trannys are fun!

hey, was wondering if anyone had taken the DCT out of a 2011 135i and put it on the 128i?

A quick googling says no one's done it on any N52.

Very likely possible, but also a colossal pain in the ass. It'll probably bolt up with 335is or 135i N55 bits. Tons of programming.

I also beginning to believe the N52 does not have the programming or hardware to make full use of the DCT. Throttle blips for upshifts are too slow, not sure if it's a limit in the valvetronic mechanism or just DME programming. Might even be the same for torque reduction during upshifts. There is a limit to the amount of ignition advance you can pull.

With DCT shifting in 120 -80 milliseconds, I don't see the N52/MSV 80 keeping up.
