Please help me identify this car
I saw a car tonight on the road. I am usually not bad at identifying cars. But this one has got me stumped. It was a definite track-specific car...loud with a large single-exit central exhaust, roll cage etc. No branding on the car (ie custom wheels etc) that I could see to identify it. It reminded me of a Gillet (some Belgian car I think). Sounded turbo charged. I think it was front engined by the length of the bonnet. Two seater. Was a metallic silver with www.shelta.com.au on the rear.
Let's just say the 135i proved itself. |

Interesting spot. Are you sure the web site was shelta.com.au (as this is a umbrella company), not www.skelta.com.au ?
The Skelta G-Force is a low volume Aussie track car that has been around for a few years. Here's the specs: http://www.skelta.com.au/skelta_gforce.asp It's an annual entrant in Targa Tas.

Yes you are correct d3syd! Well done! I just went out again and met the driver in person at the petrol station. He said it was a Skelta (my mistake on the rear www). He mentioned it has a 350HP supercharged engine. Looked like the panels were made from carbon fibre. Apparently it is one of only SIX made so far and he will be entering it in the targa tasmania.
I just had a look at the website and it states it weighs only 715kg. |

I'd love to see what this car looks like, but their gallery sucks with images of the car, or did I miss something?

Breville: the car (as with most cars) looks a lot different in real life. When I saw it, I was sort of left a bit lost for words. I could not decide whether I liked it or not. The fact I didnt know what it was did not help either...I mean if I saw your run-of-the-mill Italian exotic I would be immediately responsive.
I think it is a car whose aesthics certainly raises eyebrows, but not necessarily in a positive way. Bit like Schapelle Corby's sister really. |
