I would complain about it, just because I expect a dealership will respect my hard earned property.
However, with that being said, unless you took a picture BEFORE hand, nothing will probably get resolved other than the fact that its a "he said she said". |

No offence, but I would not put that much stock in the "mileage remaining" number or the mpg number. Both of those could have been caused by the car just sitting there idling while the battery was charging back up.
This is in no way proof that the car was driven hard. |

Yes, you can complain about it but you wouldn't get anywhere without and vital proof of having better gas mileage/fuel range prior to their abuse. Be prepared to switch dealers for service and maintenance if you complain (hard). I would just inform them and if they do anything to compensate you, great! If not, jump ship and move elsewhere.
I don't complain hard on restaurants and car service centers because they can easily pig around with what I'll be getting without me noticing it. |

I hate going to this dealership, but since my college is right next to it, i bit the bullet and gave them one more chance. I had another experience at this dealership in the past. Had a loaner car for 2 days, courtesy of the dealership. During class, the service rep. calls me up and tells me my car's ready. Told him i am in class, i will be there in a couple hours. Tell's me i have to return it now because he has a customer waiting for it, and if i don't return it within an hour, i will be charged for a full day.
Informed the manager what was going on, that service rep. no longer works there, and i got a free BMW watch and full tank of gas . |

ha. Awesome. Good for you. I am also in university right now and I'm afraid to take it to the BMW dealer here, so I drive it 100 km back to the one I like the best.

What's the Power Supply System recall?? For the record my techs always drive my car 7 miles after service. No biggie IMHO.

Who says it was even driven hard?
Reset your MPG (like what might happen when say.....the battery cable was disconnected) and drive around at parking lot speeds in first gear and see what your MPG will be at. Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 09-10-2013 at 03:03 PM.. |

Nothing is more embarrassing to a dealer than a customer picking up a car after service and not starting or running right.

True, disconnecting the battery then resetting the mpg will obviously change what it originally read, but they should have filled up my gas to what it originally was when I dropped it off.
Other SoCal dealers did that, why didn't they? Techs response; not our responsibility. Then why did the other dealerships do it? I understand they have to do a test drive after they service the car, to see if it's working properly. I am going to the dealership right now, so I will let everyone know how it goes. |

Talked to the manager and informed him on the situation. He apologized and gave me a $250 gift certificate on anything In the store, and gave me a $50 gas card.

Haven't had experience with BMW dealership here yet, but, there's a used car dealer here that lent me a 135i for a couple of days while they straightened some things out with the dmv to be able to sell me the car (title issues), and I left my coyote there in the meantime (i was trading it in). When the deal fell through (because of the title issues with the 135), I picked up my 5.0 and it had been driven 47 Miles! 9 Avg MPG AND...back tires had only 20 psi...someone definitely had a good time in it. Couldn't do a thing, as the manager swore the car hadn't been used. But two days before that he had told me he took every car home for a couple of days after they'd been traded in to test drive them. Sucks!

Long story short, the recall they repaired still is present and car still stalls and runs like shit so they didn't fix anything. Manager is now giving me a loaner car and whatever gas I use, they will fill it up, free of charge. |
