YuP! Those prices sound right to me. I priced out all that stuff last year when I was thinking about going with Tire Rack winter wheels vs BMW ones. The APO shipping fees were quite high and my local dealer got me a deal on OE witer package.

Hang on here...now im totally confused.
Dan @ UnitedBMW just told me that I'll need 5 new sensors to make this setup work. I have my stock setup mounted now. 1 front wheel has some curb rash on it. I have 1 new wheel & tire to replace the scratched wheel. I dont want to deal with dismounting the tire from the scratched wheel to gain access to the TPMS. I just want to buy a new TPMS unit one for the new wheel, install it and have the extra tire mounted. Direct swap for front wheel.. I could, not all of the time, keep the original scratched wheel in the trunk. Does the 5th TPMS cause the problem? Do the only work as a boxed/coded set of four?

The TPMS sensors send out radio signals 433Mhz (?) to the cars TPMS ecu. I think the wheels need to be in motion in order for them to radio the info back to the cars (TPMS)ECU. I think this is why you have to drive a few hundred meters when resetting the TPMS system when putting air in the tires.
So... having a extra tire in the trunk as a spare will not cause any issue. Otherwise I would have had problems when I transported my summer tires in the when I first had my snows installed on my new car last Jan. |

Still stumped.....Do I need to buy a new set of TPMS, or can I just buy 1?

You CAN buy only one IF that is all you need.
You have a new spare "bare" wheel that needs everything you listed above. No problem just buy one TPMS. |
