Tire Storage

I ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires last March.
The OEM RFTs have lasted longer than I expected (plus I haven't driven that much) so the Michelins have been sitting in my garage.

Any concerns or tips about letting them sit in my garage for a whole year before using them?

I'm in San Francisco, so very mild weather. The garage is cool, dry, and dark so I think i'm good there.

From what I'm reading online different sources say to leave them vertical/upright vs horizontal/flat.

Thanks
