I have switched over to non RFT tires in the past year and with spring coming, wanted to get ahold of a decent spare donut tire at the very least just to be safe in the unfortunate event of a flat. My question is would I be able to use one of the Mercedes/Volvo/Audi spare wheel with same oem tire size of 125/80 r17? I just want to make sure the offset and whatnot would be ok. They are all over eBay for great prices and look to be identical to an oem from bavauto but as usual, bav is ridiculously overpriced.

Wheels are much more complex than you'd think. Most manufacturers use different bolt patterns, different offsets, etc. You need something with a 5x120 bolt pattern and an offset around et40. You might can find a BMW spare that will work, but I'm pretty sure nothing from another manufacturer will work.

Well the 5x120 part is pretty standard and seems to be the majority with the European brands, it's just people and not knowing or listing any other information including offset that drives me nuts when they sell their crap..

Let me ask you this, these http://www.apexraceparts.com/apex-pr...l#.Ux0M4ni9LCQ
Are specifically made for all 1 series but also state need to be staggered and my current setup is staggered as such so were talkin two of these 18x8 et45 for front and then would I buy two of the 18x9 et50 for the back? It's a little confusing... |

I wanted a full size spare because i rather have non RFTs, but i wanted to keep the wheelset. With the different wheel sizes between front and rear which size do you get as the spare? or do i have to suck it up and get a squared set and a matching fifth? |
