Something I learnt today
Stopped at the local BP garage and absent mindedly (old age) popped the bonnet, instead of hitting the boot release.
As I was existing the garage, the " Bonnet Open warning " light and chime came on.. Got out and closed the bonnet... Didn't even realise that our cars had this feature. Probably cause I have never driven off before with the hood unlatched. When did BMW start fitting this warning function? Last edited by Zuzu; 07-29-2012 at 05:30 AM.. |

It's dealer fitted Zuzu, only added at the discretion of the Sales Associate if he thinks you' are "absent minded" or just a plain old fart. (Don't worry I have it too! )

And on the new F20... and F30's... not only do they warn you that your hood is open(unlatched) but there is also a dashboard warning display telling you so!
AND... you have to pull the hood release TWICE if you want to open the hood. I think that's dumb. Bt you need to pull it twice!
