My White pocket Rocket
Hi all.
I have posted a few things hear and there and thought it was about time I introduced my ride. Have had the 135i for around 2 months. Well what can I say that hasn't been said before. What a little weapon it is! I haven't been able to resist to fiddle with it a little bit. Mods so far Tyres Yokohama AD08's Stereo Focal KRS100 Splits Earthquake SWS-8's Image Dynamics IDQ 10 inch Sub Arc Audio 125.4 amp Arc Audio 500.1 amp Audison Bit One Control Unit (For tuning the system to make it sound well good.) Just run the stereo in and it sounds amazing. Its so clear you don't realise how loud it is! Suspension H&R front and rear sways Koni FSD's BMW performance springs M3 Front Control Arms Well these mods have made the car into an absolute monster. It is now a point and shoot go kart. It feels like its 500kgs lighter than stock because it handles so well. The ride is now firm but very well damped and controlled. The M3 front control arms make the steering far more precise and the on centre rubbery feel has gone. To come next week Quaife LSD M3 rear subframe bushes BMW performance short shift kit Bad quality photos will try to take some better ones soon. |

That's nice
Did you do all the suspension work at the same time? Have you tried them in stages? Just want to see if the sum of the parts are actually making it significantly better. Eg, M3 parts alone, vs koniFSD alone, and the performance springs alone.

Wow, nice setup! How built the box for the sub? Used to have an IDMAX 12" and it was amazing... the IDQ is a great little one!

Hi guys
Stereo install was done by Phatt Car Audio. Sub enclosure cost around $600. Quite pricey, but looks great and means you still have a usable boot and crankin' bass. Did the H&R bars first. Made a huge difference. Stopped a lot of body roll and made the car more fun to drive. However it did show up how crap the stock dampers are. The bars do a good job but you really need to change the dampers as well. I only found this out when I changed to the FSD's. Now there is almost no body roll. I did do the rest of the suspension together. To me it feels like the dampers made the biggest difference of the last lot of suspension mods I did. Second, M3 bits, they gave a lot more road feel and added negative camber. Third, the springs, they feel like they have firmed things up, but I think could have done without them. |

Was the sub enclosure pre-made? or custom? I need 2 of them, one for the coupe, one for the hatch.... |
