My quick roadtrip to castle Neuschwanstein
Hi all!
Today i made a quick and spontaneous trip to castle Neuschwanstein, which i havent visited before today. I guess most of you knew the castle from their ED so i am probably not able to show something new.. anyhow, i hope you enjoy the pics from my car and the castle. Some facts to trip: I started at about 09:45 morning and came back at about 06:00 in the evening. The hole day, the temperature was between -2° and -9° C (30° - 15° F). It took me about 2 hours, including the stops for the photos, to get to the castle, starting at my home and driving on the Autobahn A95 in direction Garmisch-Partenkirchen. For the way home, i decided to drive on the Autobahn A96 in direction Munich (first route was "the quickest" and second route was "the shortest"). Now i stop writing, because i guess, that no one is reading it.. Hope you enjoy the pics! Comments are of course very appreciated! Locating the target.. i love this Navi-Feature! Makes me feel like a airforce pilot.. *g* On the A95.. not that much traffic and the first hills are in sight First stop after leaving the A95 for a quick breakfest and the first shots Driving on the "Bundesstraße" B17 in direction Füssen Next stop.. i saw the deep hanging clouds over the valley and had to snap again some photos.. I left the lot in direction "Wieskirche".... .. there i snaped the next picture Details of the journey to Neuschwanstein, after parking Arrived at the parking area in Hohenschwangau, directly below the castle One of the great views from the castle The last shot, leaving Neuschwanstein at last: This trip was one of my intentions for the year 2008... and i made it on the last day in 2008 *g*

Awesome Pic's. Nice job. And yes, those rims look great! Did you get them from the dealer as an option or did they come standard?

Me too...
Thats why i used it immediatly as my new sig-pic  Also THX for all your comments! I am pleased that you like the pics! @GatoGrande: The rims are my winter setup. Its the 17" V-Styling 141 and i got them from my BMW dealer for about 1.200,- EUR (already mounted on winter-wheels). @bozola: I am not used to take photos at 200 km/h on the Autobahn. Also its a bit to dangerous.. IMHO On the Autobahn, there are so much people how cant evaluate the speed from cars behind them... Sometimes they just pull over to the left side and are thinking, that i´ll drive about 160 km/h.. (so enough time for breaking). But in real i am approaching with more than 200 km/h at their rear and then it could get a bit dangerous..

No problem.. I understand.. but that is a favorite tease that German BMW drivers have over us US folks.
It makes us jealous. I did a small work stint in Munich and worked in Poing. We routinely hit 180 on the way to work. I managed 206 in the BMW318 rental one early Sunday morning. |

You´re joking right?
I know Poing very well.. i lived there the first six years of my life and i am currently working in Poing (for Océ Printing Systems). For which company have you worked in Poing?

lol.. thats just insane funny!
As you said.. the world is still a small village... btw. I know Techsat very good.. they are directly on the opposite site of our building and i guess Techsat was one of our suppliers. We bought some of their sensor products for our printers some time ago.. Keep me updated if you are going to visit Munich or Poing again sometimes...!

Awesome pics- I am hoping to get to Germany in 2010, to see (among other things, of course) where my "baby" was born. "He" is in production now. Thanks for sharing the photos, and Happy New Year.
