Well, if I inspired you to really sit down and write in depth, then it was definitely worth it!

The first one in Indy was so cold and rainy--but man was it cool to be there.

I think I have to start a savings plan for this car....

Thanks so much for putting so much effort into writing this review. I'm very appreciative of the other drivers' reviews as well, but you went above and beyond the call.

that's the million dollar question... ! First off.. I'll definitely be at O'fest..! If the 1M is closer to 50K then I will have to wait and hope to find one in the used market in a few years. If it's available in the low to mid 40s... then I'll be carrying a sack lunch and seeing if there is any way I can have it and my E30 M3 in the garage.. It's hard to give up having a dedicated track car.....

I must admit that, given that there is a limited range of colours inside and out (and in all probability a relatively high standard spec), this is a car that I'd probably chose to buy second-hand rather than new so as to save on the depreciation.

I only bought the 135i new because (a) I wanted to have the feeling of buying at least one new car in my life (all the many others have been bought second-hand) and (b) it was the only way to get the colour combo and spec that I wanted and moreover could actually have...

Question: The front bumper - is it like the rendered versions from Alpine in terms of it being more like the EVO MR or is it still smiley?

Alpine325ci's renders:

Loved the review, that's the kind of experience I wanted to read about. I still am not sure if I'd trade in my 135i for a 1M, but that's because I have nothing to compare to. With all the improvements in handling, and larger rubber footprint I might be sold once these hot little items hit the showroom floors and a test drive is available. Spring can't come any sooner

Fantastic review and clever writing skills. I thoroughly enjoyed it to the point I want to trade in my 135i for a 1M now!

Good point. From what we have seen so far, they seem to be much more conspicuous than other M models. Any testers care to comment on how they looked in real life?

you've got plenty of "great job" feedback, but Im giving one more. Excellent write-up.

Makes me wonder, though. Really, none of the "official" write-ups were this alive (and objective, thank you). Maybe you should write for one of those online magazines!!

I really would like to have more details about the side-vents and the "alcantara" seats?!
