Quad Exhaust

So I saw the new Rieger quad diffuser and it got me thinking of a quad exhaust again. Has or does anyone know of a way to create a quad exhaust utilizing most of the original components. I am probably going to take it to my exhaust shop and have them take a look at it but does anyone see and issue with cutting the exhaust at a certain point and then welding in another pipe with quad exhaust.

Garage List
its been done, ive had a guy look at mine to do it, itll take some additional parts from the 1M. not sure what the list was but its on here somewhere search it.

biggest problems were:

1. if running full width pipes, mandrel bending around the diff to have a true "quad"

2. relocating the exhaust canister

3. you will need to get the 1M battery and battery tray in the trunk, ours is too big to slide a pipe under

there is a thread about this somewhere...

If you get a quad aftermarket exhaust it would sound nicer and weight a lot less than the stock exhaust.

I've got the remus quad race style (the one with carbon fiber inlays on the tips) + maddad midpipes and it sounds amazing. Drones slightly at low rpm higher load scenarios, but it's not bad at all on the highway for long trips.

Do you have to move/refit the battery for this? I am interested in a similar setup... if so, what am I looking at for total labor hours?

Sorry, I hadn't checked this site in a few days. No you don't have to move the battery. You just need to cut a small piece out of one of the plastic splash guards on the passenger side where the tip exits.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the exhaust. The driver's side does flow more exhaust. On a cold day you can notice it, but otherwise you don't.

Rieger quad diffuser doesn't look like it would work with the Remus exhaust, cutouts in wrong location.

Will post an "upskirt" pic once I get home ;]
It's loud on idle but quiets down once warmed up. Slight drone on highway but nothing unbearable (I commute about 60miles daily). Gurgles and pops on deceleration. It's an "axleback". A "Y" welded to where the oem axleback was cut from. Tips are from a C6 Corvette. Diffuser is a hartge replica.
