it is supposed to have the dinan stage 2 tune on it. I never drove a stock 135i so I didn't know what to expect. The car ended up at the dealership where I bought it. Any way to do a quick test? if the car doesnt have the tune anymore, would bmw charge me to have it back on?
I guess it will be hard to tell if you don't know what they feel like, but stock tune torque is constant from 1500 - 5500 rpm, and Dinan tune torque peaks at 4300.

If I remember right, the Dinan tune belongs to the VIN, so worst case I think Dinan would reflash it for a small price.

check for two bottles of NOS underneath your seat, and if you find yourself living your life a 1/4 mile at a time, you might not be stock

You must have a factory freak than. on map 3 DD, it will not screech tires unless its a bumpy road, let alone going sideway, only thing that will roast tires in 2nd gear without dropping clutch is Map 7.

Even stock my 1er was going sideways...
Btw it's possible to buy a car with a tune...I bought a CPO car with a chip a few years ago.....I went to chip the car...surprise the car already had a GIAC chip in there.

How do you find out the car has a Giac Chip?

no, def not saying that. But your torque converter works hard to make sure you are delivering smooth power to the wheels, which is why AT dont get swirly as easy

im at a loss here. I can get 4th the screech if im pushing it hard

all i do is press the button once, then easy off the clutch into first, then when the revs are at 3k, I punch it. All sorts of side ways action till 6.5k, when i shift hard into 2nd. more sideways action, then 3rd is a mild chirp, then into forth w/ a weak chirp

only I can think of, is im still on crappy RFT, maybe you guys arent

That must be the case my tires were changed to star specs before break in period came up. On winter tires I will get wheel spin in third without tune. DD on map 3 with SS gives me no traction issues

Anything other than Dinan, a tune will not be erased by the dealer after service

check the ecu bay to see if a JB3 is there, if not, a boost gauge will def tell you
You mean when it's raining and you are turning a corner your car will slip a little if you go full throttle? A stock car won't break traction under acceleration in second gear.
