Performance shifter, something different?
I had my BMW SSK installed yesterday and its awesome! I had the dealer install the factory knob and boot, but when I got home I decided I wanted the performance knob and the factory leather boot (alacantra reminds me of a cheap couch). Well they don't connect together right so after a little creativity, this is what I came up with, I'm loving it so far!

Me too! How is the shifting now? The m sport shift lever and knob are very nice, but I am not sure if there is any throw difference from stock. Having a slightly shorter throw would make for snappier shifts and perhaps an even more solid feel (I think BMW shifters are among the best, VW and others are very sloppy!) Are you happy?

I think the leather (which it probably leatherette) feels cheaper than the alcantara.

The knob doesn't really make it any shorter, it just appears shorter because I have the BMW short shift kit and I basically removed the bottom ring of the shift knob. I will say that I can just flick my wrist to change gears rather than moving my whole arm.
