Looking for confirmation PSS's 265/35/18 on 269's will fit

Somehow my alignment got jacked and burned through the first inside edge on my PSS's in almost no time. I currently have 255/35/18 on my BMW Performance 269's I'd like to go a little wider in the hopes of getting a little more grip I see the sticky states 265/35/18's is the widest you can get by with but just wanted to confirm the offset and everything on that wheel should be fine. I know the 255's barely scraped on hard bumps with 10mm spacers so it should be a tight but good fit. Or should I switch up to 255/40/18's.

I see you are running toe links, M3 RSFB's, and an LSD. I assume you track your 135i? What are your rear alignments specs (camber and toe)?

How do you like the toe links, which I understand also allow you better camber adjustment as an added benefit to toe adjustments?

I think the widest you can run on 18x8.5 is 255, but Ive read that some go as wide as 265/35R18. I opted for a square 255/35R18 setup on four rear style 261 wheels and 10mm spacers in the front.

My style 261 wheels have the same offset as your style 269's:
front = 7,5x18 ET 49
rear = 8,5x18 ET 52

You cannot run 255/40 or your diameter will be too large and you will not only rub but screw up your speedometer reading.

255/35 or 245/35 in the rear or 215/40 or 225/40 in the front are your best choices with almost identical diameters.

Meh, pinching that much rubber on that narrow of a wheel is counter-productive. To me, 18x8.5 = 235-255 range. You really need a wider wheel to make use of the extra width.

I originally had intended to track the car but never got there. I did the bushings and LSD first and had some rear end instability issues which led to getting the Toe and Camber links. I think all my issues were just alignment related but just replaed the upper and trailing arm links as well before getting new tires.

That's why I asked I didn't know the specs on the 269's I thought they were 9" not 8.5. The reason I was considering the 255/40 was to get closer to the real speed since speedo's are already optimistic by 1MPH my speedo is about 4-5 MPH fast on the Highway making me think I'm going faster than what I am. I'm sure that's the reason I've been so lucky on tickets so far.

I said screw it and just ordered the same size I got now as I know they work without any issues. Once I know I have all my alignment issues fixed I'll think about maybe figuring out getting some wider meat under there.

Wise choice.

I edited my first post due to typo... front tire width is 215/40 or max of 225/40 on stock 18x7.5 style 261/269 RIMS

For me, replacing my RE-050 runflats with Extreme Performace Tires (gone through a set of RE-11's and ZII's), installing the four E92/M3 rear subframe bushings, installing the Quaife LSD with more agressive 3.46 ratio, and maxing my rear camber (-2*), with a bit of toe in, really planted the rear end of my 135i. The effect was very noticeable on the street and at the track.

Im still on stock rear suspension (OE arms, springs, dampers), and the added forces generated by my 3.46 LSD and agressive custom PTF e-tune, does not upset the rear of the car under hard acceleration.

Im still contemplating solid toe arms such as yours for my 2015 lapping season ...

225/40 front and 255/35 rear

Gents -

Any issues with rubbing using the above tire size on stock 264s, stock (M) suspension on a 2011 135 convertible?

Just looking to improve the stance and grip a bit.

Thanks,

Larry

You can just look up the tire manufacturer's recommend wheel width range (or use Tirerack which repeats this information). They're already fairly liberal on what is listed so I would not recommend exceeding their recommendations even by 1/2".

Stance and grip are almost always at odds, especially on the 1er, which prefers high offset values in order to fit wide tires.
