Differential bearings whining

I just got back from the local BMW-shop after complaining about:
-trunk light doesnīt work
-trunk lock doesnīt open/lock every time
-whine coming from the powertrain. Loudest at 60 km/h.

The trunk lock was replaced, and the source of the whining was located; rear differential bearings. Now I got a new appointment for differential replacement. It`s all under warranty, so no probs. I just think itīs pretty odd that the differential bearings are gone after 12 000 km:s. Itīs already a second time I complained for the whining, so it has been there at least 6000 km:s already.

I read the manual from cover to cover and followed the procedure. 100 kph was the maximum I did in the first 2,500 kms.
