"Fortune Auto Series 500 coilovers installed"

I picked these up because i wanted to try something different. Everyone talks about KW's, HR's etc. so i had to go against the grain lol. The Fortune Coilovers came with built-in Camber plates and 24 level adjustable damping. Heres a link for more info. http://www.fortune-auto.com/fortune5...scoilovers.htm

Heres the install. Sorry no instructions just pic's (alot)

Overall i think these Forture Auto "500" coilovers are a good "bang for you buck" now its not geared towards a all out "track/race car" but as a daily driver and AutoX its great and if you do decide to hit up the track its fine. But if you want to hit up the track more then just a few times a year they have the 550 series which is more for the track and its much stiffer then the 500 series. Like i said before what sold me was the fact that it came with camber plates/adjustable damping and most important/adjustable ride height and the warranty!!!!

So you got them because of the 5yr warranty and BC racing type of price.

They website says custom, what options did you get to choose from?

You get to choose the spring rates that you want. And you can add swift springs, top mount bearings. And they don't start building the coilovers until you order them.

I'm sorry to revive this thread again. Have you ever try KW coilovers? How's the ride of Auto Fortune 500 compared to KW street comfort or maybe KW V2? I'm looking for suspension upgrade and so far my option will be KW street comfort but willing to get more inputs as the time goes by. Thanks

I haven't heard any bad about KW's, I just wanted to be different. I'm digging the fortune auto coilovers. They proved them selfs at autoX/mountain road/ and soon the track. The spring rates I got are perfect. If your looking at KW's just think about what your planning on doing with the car. If your just looking to lowering your car then I would go with KW street C. Planning on autoX/track KW2 or KW3 ( if your pretty deep into racing ). That's my 2cents. Hopefully that helps you out.

That's really help man! I'm planning just for dd without track and auto cross. KW V3 is out of option for sure since it's too complicated for street car with no track duty. Two options left are KW V2 and street comfort.

I will probably go with street comfort since the allowable drop is milder compared to V2. I don't want to slam my car anyway so .85"-1" drop is fine to me.

Thanks!

What spring rates did you go with? I'm about to order some, I'm thinking 8k front, 12k rear? It's my dd, maybe see the track a few times a year, but i will probably be running a somewhat aggressive wheel setup as my dd

F-10K/R-9K

these rates are working great for me both for the track/autoX and DD.

I ordered mine yesterday and got 8k front, 12k rear. I called fortune auto and they recommended 7k front, 11k rear, so i went up one since i want a little stiffer ride. How did you come up with yours? or is that what they recommended to u? I hope mine work out...

i did some research on what other people were running. but i was thinking about going alittle stiffer in the rear 11k. 10k up front is prefect IMO, if its not to late you should ask for 10k up front.

OP.

For those rear ride height adjusters, did they seat okay in that metal cup mount?

Just asking because when I installed my TCK Coilovers I knocked those out because my ride height adjusters would not seat correctly at all. In fact, I learned after that fact that they did indeed need to be knocked out.

And just an observation....interesting spring rate choice.

Yup I removed them after the pic was taken. Because it wasn't looking right. And like you said they needed to be removed anyways. As for the spring rates there working out pretty well.
