Loss of power steering

Got a 2008 116i with an electric power steering wich suddenly lost power.

steering wheel is extremely heavy, especially when stationary, feels like the power assisted steering is completely out. Orange steeringwheel service/engine ligth comes up on the dashboard, and when i scan the obd2 i get fault code 0063EC.

i've tried resetting the ecu, as it a problem can be caused from an Ecu hiccup, but no result.

Do i have to replace the eps rack elctric motor, or isz there somone else who has another solution to the problem?
