A very well respected member of the forum reported that these actually wore out much quicker than OEM replacements...

That has not been our experience.

What was the vehicle application and modifications to the suspension?

E90 with all M3 control arms, guide rods, sway bars. Coilovers, not sure what brand. Not sure how low and exact alignment specs... He said he went back to the oem tie rods after the Meyles were shot in less than a year. I dunno, I actually bought these Meyle HD tie rods from you and have them on my e82 and they seem OK for now. Maybe it was a fluke for the other guy...

Larger than stock wheels and tires could also cause the tie rods to wear out quickly. Road conditions could also contribute the accelerated wear.
