Nordschleife Laps up 2 Euros more for 2012

http://www.nuerburgring-shop.de/tour..._from_store=de

Talk about socking it to the consumer I guess since they owe Rheinland Pfalz over 5 million Euros in back rent and possibly even more in the coming months and other people that have stores in the Ring Werks (what a joke ) are bailing out like rats from a sinking ship they can make it harder for common people to enjoy one of the best tracks in the world.

When was the last time they increased rates? A 2 Euro hike is an 8% increase. That alone doesn't seem like it's really socking it to the consumer. Maybe it would seem different if i was close by and was able to visit frequently. I'm super jealous of any body that's able to visit it more than once every few years.

I think the first time I went to the Ring back in 1991 it only cost 8 DM. That's 4 euros! lol And... there was hardly anyone drving on the Ring, back then.

Since they got rid of the old Opa who took your money in his hand to run a lap... and since they got rid of the old Ring Musem just in front of the Dorit Hotel... things have changed for the worse. I miss those old days of the Ring. Now it is way too commercialized. Btw... I still have my old Ring ticket from that old Opa!!

The problem is that they have been increasing the price like this for the last 3 years. When I went in 2008 it was 18 Euros and was more enjoyable than now. Word is also that they might even raise it 2-3 euros more during mid year next year also.

The 'Ring is also severely in debt because of poor mismanagement decisions. Their biggest draws are F1 every 2 years and this year was a loss of revenue of 13million Euros from the race due to poor turnout and the ADAC 24Hrs of Nurburgring, who now maybe plan to leave after their contract is up due to current 'Ring management demanding an almost 200% monetary increase to sponsor the event.

I could tell you alot more but I would be here until next week.....

I was wondering if that was the case. That does sound pretty annoying. Has the increased price decreased demand at all -- i.e. do you see fewer cars on the track?

The thing that pisses me off worse (I think) is that the Nordschliefe is the only thing out there making money and the 2 jack holes running Nurburgring GmbH keep raising prices and cutting costs there do that they can continue losing money with everything else :-(

This can't go on forever without consequences unless every other track around will also rises their prices. Kind of thievery when you might pay 30 euro per lap by mid-year next year imo

I just want to do one lap so I can cross it off the list.
A real shame that I finally live nearby but now the track is poorly managed.

Demand is still there but there has been a decrease in the Touristenfahren dates which causes massive congestions on the track and off. Add construction and repair while they are open and you have a constant recipe for disaster like what happened a couple of weeks ago with the 8 car pile up on the 'Ring.

Hey GS,

How do you get times to run at Spa? Do you have to make appointments or are there slots or something? That is a track that I really want to go run at.

Hey Nick, You can book online at www.spa-francorchamps.be.
215 euro's for four runs --> 25 min. each
This friday (hollyday here ) is the last public day this year

@ Dave, i'm feeling a bit here cuz I really haven't got a clou.
But I don't think so. Afterall it's located in the forrest (sort of) but I know one thing: it has so much lesser debts than NS

Dude, I've wanted to drive Spa for a while now (along with Hockenheim Ring). Too bad I'd have to leave the 1M at home and take the MINI
(The MINI's been on the Nurburgring, Silverstone and the Tail of the Dragon so I need to add Spa and Hockenheim to it's resume )
