Orange spots in paint. Rust?

So I have light orange dots all over my car. They look almost like rust dots but its on some plastic areas too. What is this? They vary in size and concentration and they are randomly on the body panels.

Most likely industrial fallout.

Take some claybar to it and it will disappear.

You might try some "iron cut" (iron-x) spray and a clay bar.

my AW 2011 135 had them to it drove me nuts! I used meguiars ultimate compound with a micro fiber towel came right out!

It's called rail dust just Google it. I suggest doing what Dackel suggested which is using Iron X which will get rid of most to all of it followed by a clay bar and a good wax. You could just clay it but the Iron X makes it a hundred times easier. Also make sure to put a sealant or wax after the Iron X as it will eat up previous waxes.

Do not use Meguiars ultimate compound or any other polish as shemeld_135 suggested without first doing the above. The Meguiars product or any other polish must be used only after cleaning and decontaminating the paint.

that is only tars, use a good tar remover and after that a clay bar and you will be fine

If its on alpine white it would be like many suggested fall out and iron contaminants.

you can use Auto Finesse Iron Out or Wolf's Decon Gel for this.

finish up by using a nanoskin autoscrub pad or clay bar.

for the tough stuff you can also use Stoner's Tarminator

we find the Wolf's Decon works great on paint and the Sonax FE works better on wheels.

It cuts down on the load on the clay bar, which eliminates marring on the paint. Really love Iron-X

Good to know: You get twice as much Wolf's Decon (1000ml) than Iron-X (500ml) for about the same price (~ $20).
