Pics from my Nürburgring trip (56k beware)

When I arrived at the Nürburgring on Sunday the track was closed due to a nasty crash. So while I waited for it to open back up, I went around the parking lots to take some pictures. The first few were taken as I was arriving and parked. This wasn't my first time there but it was my first time driving on the course and being there for a regular track day session. The last time I was at the Nürburgring was for the 24hr race last year. I didn't take my DSLR with me for obvious reasons (didn't want it moving around while I was on the track) so I brought my P&S instead.

1. I've arrived!

2. One of MANY Nobles

3. Lamborghini LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni (nose raised to get out of the parking lot)

4. Audi R8

5. Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR, not sure if it was tuned by Hennessy, but the wing had its logo

6. The BMW Taxi office

7. BMW M5 Ring Taxi!

8. Sabine's M5 taxi (no thats not Sabine)

9. That's Sabine, she was pretty cool talking to the group of us waiting in line for tickets during the closure

10. A really nice BMW 135i parked near the ticket booth

11.

12. A Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür

13. The Nissan R35 GT-R safety car

14.

15. During the closure, they decided to film a commercial or something

16. 1 of a billion GT3 RS's that were there

17. Course is open! Waiting in line behind a crazy S15

18. Impressively, each time I was in line I was waiting for no more than a couple minutes. The line moved very quickly.

19. While waiting in line, this was going around the traffic circle behind me, one of many very nicely kept M3's.

I do have video of my miserably slow 3rd lap (however quicker than my first 2 laps), still gotta upload it to the Tube later.

Nice pics !!!!

And great write-up, 123D-M, just read the blog...
I thought our 204 diesel hp wasn't sufficient to go to a track-day, but maybe I should do this once, too (thinking more direction Francorchamps, though) ...

Trust me, for your first time on the 'Ring, 204hp is plenty. You don't want to be going any faster than that... And actually a diesel with lots of torque makes it easier because you don't need to change gear as often. You can leave it in a higher gear and just steer round a corner and still have plenty of torque to power out of the corner.

I went to Spa Francorchamps last weekend and rode round in a Ferrari. Also on my blog
