Hello everyone, I've been following 2Addicts for quite some time now, but this is my first post. All I wanted to say is that I'm thrilled with all the pictures you guys have been getting. Each time there are new photos of this car I get more excited for it's release. By the way, those wheels give the new car a great look. Can't wait to see more!!

If that car is in final North America trim, it's doubtful we're getting the turbo engine -- in the 3 series, the chrome trim around the windows and exhaust is reserved for the highest model e.g., 330 or 335. That, the big wheels, and the single pair of dual exhausts implies 130i to me.. I hope I'm wrong, I'd love to see a 135i.

Scott27: "If you look at the front of the car you can see the styling changes to seperate the Coupe from the hatchback. For instance- see how the lights are more upswept and angular on the bonnet edge , look at the shape underneath and you can see how the curve will imitate the 3er Coupe lights as they meet at the front kidney grille.? The non-official scoop pictures of the "Comoros Red" Coupe also had a 2002 on hand they photographed on side of the pump with the (BMW) 2002 and the other with the new Coupe. Something to do with Nostalgia apparently. that car is now being photographed in San Francisco." |

Nice To Be In Such Good Company!
"Looking at these pictures it doesn't look that coupe-ish.
It looks like a 2 door sedan and will likely fall to the liking of very young girls or people in their 50-60s like the 3er compact." Luwalira on GCZ today....5700 posts.... |

Call up Webster. They have to add "coupe-ish" to the next dictionary... What does that mean? It's got two doors, ergo a coupe... no? Probably posted by someone who's pissed off they bought a hatch when they should have waited for the coupe. And by the way, not sure his description of the 3er's target market is on target...

I can't tell exactly yet, but if that "angular-ness" of the head lamps is actually the design but not the masking tape, it looks whole lot better than the hatch.

Man im confused. I've already made up my mind that there will be no M1. If there is a 135 then there is no M version right? Where is all this M talk coming from? Someone please direct me. :iono:

There will be a 135i from the launch, and it will not be an M model. My sources say there are no immediate plans for an M variant, but time will tell.

Slightly surprising that the Guys @ DesignWorks didn't seek out a more unique headlamp design for the coupe, but then again this isn't exactly a case of the 3 series where two models could probably use more differentiation from a historical perspective. But also, then again, it's not like the 1ers headlamps are a seriously flawed design.
