135i insignia on the trunk lid

Hey guys I wanted to see what everyone thought. I recently bought the trunk lid insignia for the M3 and I wanted to see if I'd get flamed for putting JUST the M and maybe the 1 on. I thought about this long and hard and thought that just the M would be cool but to still carry on the pride of the 1 Series to put the 1 too. What do you all think?

ehh i dont like it and i think the board shares the sentiment

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...ighlight=badge

M door sills.... those are ok and look great esp because they come on the Euro spec and canadian spec 1's....

but an m badge....i think is a tad much

i think the m steering wheel and shift knob are nice accents.
The badge would be on the edge of ricey.

Haha, maybe who knows! No I'm not that flagrant!

Also what he's got is just gay. I would take off the 135i and replace it with just the M.

I prefer the clean look. When my SA asked me if I wanted the 135i badge on the rear ( which I didn't know was an option ) I chose to debadge.
Do what you want. To me, I think it's like pouring cheap scotch in a Glenlivet bottle.

Most people on the forum are stupid enough to buy into the marketing game of BMW North America. ///M badges other places in the world many cars come with the M badge that are not full ///M cars.

The 1 series comes with M door panels, M steering wheel, M suspension, and M body kit in other parts of the world, as well as most of the parts here.. People don't seem to think that those are "rice". Fuck what these people say, do what you want and you think looks good. Your car makes enough power with the mods to be an ///M car anyway

Do what you want to do! I personally don't like the 135i///M but if he does, then I hope he is enjoying it. Calling what he did gay or retarded shows a lack of respect for the opinion of others...if it makes him happy why make fun of him for it?

This is true it does show a lack of respect. To each their own. I personally don't like the look of both badges, I think I'm going to go with just the M. Besides it then will match, it's got the steering wheel, shift knob, door sills, and now the badge. My appolgies if I offended anyone.

My opinion? Badges should be taken off, not added.

But it's your ride, if you like it then go for it!

No M. It's a 135. Be proud of the "1" and the knowledge that it will give an M a run for it's money. I personally took my 135i off and it looks much cleaner IMO.

Cheapen, how do you mean...M cars are synonymous with being expensive and wicked fast.

Think about all the ricers that throw a Type R on their Civics. Type R quickly became a joke. Not that the 135 is a Civic, but you throw enough M badges on cars that are not M's and it quickly becomes a joke.

I wouldnt go with the M badge either. As good as the badge looks, the 135 simply isnt a M car. It may be able to keep up with them, but I wouldnt put a caymen badge on the 1er just becasue i can keep up with em ya know.

maybe just do like i did and get a license plate frame with the ///M on it

Here's my two cents, take it or leave it.

It's not an ///M car. If you want a car with an ///M on it, buy one. Surely you can pick up an E46 M3 for the price of the 1 if you want to. It totally cheapens the car to add an ///M badge on the rear of a non ///M car and I think it disgraces our community. Do you want people to compare us to kids in Civics with Type R badges on them? We're above that. Would you buy a shirt from Gap and then sow on a Bananna Republic logo? That's the equivalent of what you'd be doing. It's false advertising and those in the know are going to laugh. You may fool a high schooler or a dumb chick here and there but I don't think it's going to drop any panties or impress your friends.

On a positive note, I will give you a virtual high-five for posting here first, though. To me, this shows that you had an inkling it was wrong, lame, and unjust from the start. In my humble opinion, you did the right thing by seeking the advice of our community.

Do the right thing, Buddy...

Cheers!
