Feeler FS: PE Mod Stock M Sport Exhaust
I'm thinking of doing a quad setup and have decided to possibly part out my PE moded exhaust (muffler section only).
This M Sport muffler was cut open and welded internally to replicate exactly the BMW PE specs. One pipe is muffled the other flapped one is straight. All welds were done by a very good welder with a steady hand. All the exterior visible welds, including the underside and parts visible through the CF diffuser, have been meticulously grinded perfectly smooth to give it a stock look when installed. The entire muffler was machine polished in two stages to bring back the original luster and then was finished with three coats of very high temp clear exhaust enamel. The enamel was baked on to keep the look as clean as possible for years of driving on salty Ontario roads. The part looks and sounds amazing! The biggest advantage of this setup is you retain the flapper valve and can make the PE exhaust perform quieter on demand if you also buy the ExhaustMeister module. Essentially controlling the flapper with the garage door buttons in the cockpit. Also, you retian black chrome tips. The black chrome tips have also been carefully polished back to their original shine. Price $350 OBO ONTARIO preferred, feel free to PM me with offers! Pics coming soon... This can be made to work for the 128i with a good exhaust shop and a good welder.
The flange section will need to be cut off and the piping will need to be adapted to differences in pipe diameters. The muffler section hangers are the same for both cars I believe. I'm sure there's info on his topic somewhere, I recall speaking with another member who adapted a 135i muffler on his 128i so it is certainly possible. |

FYI
Here are some pics of the 128i stock setup. The resonator is welded to the muffler. Piping is about .5 inches smaller in diameter. Probably best to cut and weld at an easy access point after the resonator. Sorry forgot to crop them but they are from ebay. |

FYI I have a 135i muffler attached to my 128i. Any good shop can do it, just weld the flange section directly to the resonator (flange to be cut off) and you're set.

Hey man sorry for the late reply, I was in NWT for two weeks up in the Mackenzie Mountains.
Yes, I still have the exhaust installed on my car, I will likely be doing a quad setup sometime in August. I can switch back to my spare stock exhaust at any time so feel free to let me know if you want to hear/test it out in person. |

People in my parking garage are always startled when I fire it up for the first time. Sounds like a V8. On hot days the tone does come down to a more civilised and respectable level but not too quite that it won’t get noticed or no longer be fun. It’s a great option for those who want the performance muffler sound and the ability to quiet it down on longer cruses. PM me any time and I'd be happy to show it off. Dan |

Removed the modded exhaust this weekend.
As you can see the welds look invisible after they were smoothed out. Up for sale now! PM for details Thanks |
