Decided to start a new thread instead of hijacking others.

Any thoughts on this car?

Google "BMW M2 CS" and you'll see the news (basically all duplicates of each other).

It'll be interesting to see what production volumes will be in light of the M4 GTS coming in at 300 to the US market. We all know there were 740 US market 1M's. Regular M2 numbers are supposed to be around 2k-ish?
If it's at 1M volume or more (which I think is unlikely) my store should probably get 3-4 (we got 3 1M's and will be getting 1 M4 GTS) in which case I might be able to get a production slot. If it's like the M4 GTS at 300ish then I probably won't be able to get one...we'll see. The 1M stays though...will have to make room in the stable elsewhere.
I really, really, REALLY want to take Euro Delivery of one. It's been a dream of mine since I started working for my store. The problem with ED for employees is you have to pass up the Center Employee Lease program which is usually a difficult thing to give up. On an M2 CS(L) variant it would be a no-brainer in my opinion.

...also curious where MSRP will fall in relation to the M3/4 and M4 GTS.

I think production volume will be about 1M numbers, but it is hard to gauge demand as I think this will drop if the price goes too far north over 70k.
I also don't think that it will hold it's value or reputation like the 1M. I mean it's been five years and I still get people coming up and fawning over my whip. I would love for lightning to strike again (and to my benefit) with the rumored M2 variant, but I'm not holding my breath.
And Euro delivery is what I'm planning to do, if it all comes to fruition.

GimmeanM3, do you work at a BMW dealer? Is it true the M2 is selling $10k above sticker? Just curious if this is a correct number.

Yeah, with M3/M4 in the $75k MSRP range I wonder where they would want the M2 CS to end up? If it's going to have a detuned S55 at 400hp I can't imagine they would be able to charge more than M3/M4 prices. But with the M2 in the $55k range that doesn't leave much room. With the M4 GTS at $130k that's 50k more than the regular version! ...but I can't imagine the pool of potential customers going for a $100k-ish M2! I think you're right, too far north of $70k and people are going to say why not just get an M4.

I do. I work for Schomp BMW in Denver Colorado. I wouldn't be surprised if many dealers are charging far over MSRP for the M2. I just looked and we've sold 5 so far; all have been at MSRP.
Dealers are taking advantage of BMW's shortage of supply on the M2. We have quite a long wait list for the M2 and other exciting cars, so even though we don't gouge it's still difficult to get one.

I won't buy a car if there's a mark-up. My dealer doesn't pull that crap and that's why they've had my business for the past 18 years. If they try it with the M2 CS, I'll buy it and flip it and then just switch to Porsches. I am fortunate enough to have a 1M so there won't be any regrets.

I'm thinking about the same car in my case 1 car has to go. So should I keep the 1M of trade it for a M2 CS? There is a 3rd option I'm thinking about: take an European delivery of the M2 CS and sell it after. What would you guys do?

Never say never, but at this point I don't think I'd get rid of the 1M. I'm never satisfied and always change cars, but so far I can't imagine getting rid of the 1M. Plenty of people have and some of them will admit that they regret it.

If you have to get rid of something I'd say wait to drive it (if it ever exists) before making that decision. Ideal situation? Get an M2 CS on ED, come home fresh off your trip and look at your 1M in the garage and then ask yourself which one.
