1 Series folk, how's your interior holding up?

In another thread I mentioned how I drove a 2010 135i this week and was impressed with it's power. What I was less than impressed with was a door trim piece up near the driver side A pillar that was falling off. The dealer had just gotten this particular car in and mentioned that he would be fixing that issue but it still surprised me to see this fairly new BMW with an interior piece just falling off like that.

Hopefully it was just an aberration and you guys haven't experienced anything like that but as someone who would like to own a 1 series one day I am curious.

Well, on my 2012 I get the popping on hot days from the trim over the glovebox, and the creaks that develop from the armrest assembly after a few months. But those are pretty minor and I still love the car

lots of creaks-the armrest, a pillars, and glove box. But the actual interior pieces have held up great, bothing broken, faded, loose, etc. drivers side bolster has a bit of wear but i can live with it. the interior is probably the last thing i worry about with this car.

Other than the center console creaking, and the dash popping rarely in the summer, my interior is holding up like a champ in my 2011.

Four months in and it's all good so far: no creaks, squeaks, or rattles.

No problems at all with the interior of the 2011 135 I had for 2 years, and no problems with the 2013 135 I have now. Never got any pops, squeeks, etc., even in the hot Florida climate.

09 135 Vert, never a problem with the interior with the exception of the pass side air bag indentation. No rattles or squeeks. The Pass armrest squeeked a few time after a year, but a shot of silicone spray and it has been gone since them.

My 09 is holding up very well, The manual gear knob has some wear on the upper edge of the leather and the steering wheel button surround where my left thumb usually rests while I am holding the wheel is showing some paint wear. Both of those issues I plan to address before the warranty expires in December. Other than that, no issues.

I haven't experienced any squeaks or rattles in the interior of my '08 135 yet, though it only has 27,000 miles on it so far.

My 08 is still in perfect condition and only a few squeaks which there are fixes posted out there that basically just involves taking out the A pillars and dash trim pieces to either lube or place some felt between.

I have an 08 with about 59k and I had some kind of rattle in the center console. I say had because it magically went away, but other than that its holding up quite fine.

Loose or broken A-pillar trim is most likely from a replaced windshield. Our cars seem to go thru lots of windshields (maybe due) to the angle of the front screen. ?

I had my A-pillar trim piece off putting a remote microphone for the bluetooth for my Garmin and it went back on fine. That was a couple years ago and it hasn't moved.

My interior is vinyl and shows essentially no wear. I'm at about 23K miles in my 2009.

I get a few creaks and other noises and you can see an indentation in the dash where the airbag is on the passengers side. The trim piece around the seat release for the drivers door likes to come loose in mine but I used to put my hand there getting in and out and I think I've loosened it up. I have no real complaints, I think the interior is holding up well.

My passenger side A pillar rattles against the dash board and my driver seat bolsters dont stay inflated for more than 5 minutes. There is also plastic bump in the middle of the dash that looks like it is dried out and peeling. Anyone know what that thing is looks like a sensor cover or something? I want to try getting it fixed during my annual service in December.

I'm about to order a 2013 128 vert with leather interior. How well is the leather expected to wear compare to the leatherette? Also, are the sport seats quality any better than the standard?

IMO, the sports seats are far more comfortable than the standard seats; not sure about better quality tho. Generally, BMW seats are fairly high quality.

My past experiences are that the leatherette wears better than leather.

I only have one more BMW (5 GT) and its only about 6 mos old so I am not sure how long the leather will hold up. Although the stitching around the corner of the seats are somewhat questionable, the lines are not precise and wobble all over the place. One more question on the sport seats. When I sat in one, the thigh booster was a little tight, its almost hugging too close for comfort, is this adjustable? Thanks!
