Is your compass zone set correctly?

When reading the manual, I noticed on page 105 that my compass zone should apparently be set to 11 here in Connecticut. When I checked the setting through the mirror though, it showed 8.

Is 8 a default for all US cars? Are dealerships supposed to set the correct zone during delivery?

Ja, the dealers are supposed to set this during PDI but no, I do not know what zone is correct. Never checked this. I presume CT is same as NY - and hence 11. I don´t even recall where one sets this.

But your dealer should have, that is certain, because the dealer is supposed to reset after factory delivery (since it´s set for Europe) - which means I had better check mine!

JSpira, that makes 3 things we agree on tonight so far ... DSC/DTC on the Xi, the ordering of stations in "All Stations", and now the compass. All confusing...

Hopefully you will agree with me on my upcoming post about the knurled wheel for the heater and A/C...

Don't know what zone I am supposed to be in, but haven't had any problems with the compass.

Sorry, this is but is there a way to change the compass to the temperature? I saw that when you start up the car, it has the degree symbol. Maybe it has to do with your location rather than the temperature. Anyone know anything about it?

No I did and I know about having to set the zone if the compass is out of whack, but I haven't had any problems, so figured my dealer set it correctly at delivery.

Thanks for the help. I figured there was a way to change it since it had different characters like the degree sign.
