I sent an email weeks ago. No response.
The product is great. I work with two guys running it on 335i's.

I can vouch for the fact that I have emailed several times for info about the rumored to be upcoming Version 2 and they don't respond.

Ok, has anyone actually attempted the SSTT install on their 135i yet? I got the aero-cover off the bottom of the car and had to search around quite a bit for the TMAP plug...
and I found it... and it's WAY up in the driver's side of the engine compartment, about 10-12" past where I can get my hand because the steering linkage is in the way. Altitude-wise, it's about the same height as the top of the wheel, so it's definitely not sitting there in your face when you're under the car. I laid there staring up at it, trying every which way to shove my hand/fingers up in there from every possible access point, and I don't see any way to make it work. The TT came packed with 335i installation instructions, which are useless to us of course. I referred to Jeff's post in trying the installation from the bottom, but I don't have a clue how to get at it without some dextrous tongs or a pygmy. |

People have posted that you can remove the air box to get to it. THanks for posting that it's not right in your face. I was wondering how that could be since it's way up high on the E9x.

Pretty disheartening to drop the aero-cover (22 8mm screws!) and then find out that it's gonna take a minor miracle to install, since the primary reason people choose the TT is that it's easy to install & uninstall. I'll put a call in to Eurobahn/Split Second today to see if they have any recommendations and report back any worthwhile findings. |

Update: I exchanged voicemails with Jeff today regarding the 135i TT installation. He said that he did know it was a very tight fit and that the install he was aware of was done by someone with smallish hands, using a long-handled screwdriver to manipulate the clips.
Eurobahn won't have their 135i in-shop until next week, so they don't have 1st-hand instruction or tips just yet. After seeing where the TMAP is and what needs to be done, I'm considering sending it back since it's going to be a real PITA to get in or out, defeating the point of the plug & play solution. I do want to talk to Jeff directly first though, and also see how 0002s's installs go. |
