Horse Power Run in the Top End - Various Performance Cars

Hi all,
After seeing the fun a lot of you have been having with club cruises I jumped at the opportunity to take my 135i out for a proper run. As I have the only 135i that I know about so far up here in Darwin, there is no way of forming a club with 1s for a nice drive.... instead there was a number of cars that turned up to our unofficial club drive. As its the wet season up here now - we are planning a repeat of the run in the dry season. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived, met a great bunch of likeminded performance enthusiasts as well as the owner of an awesome M3. This thing was ballistic..... Supercharged M3!!! He is getting about 530HP from memory..... its the white one in the pics below. Under heavy acceleration though, I was happy with how my 1 kept up (well.... kind of anyway

)

Anyway just though I'd share some pics from the Drive... we did about a 260km return trip from Darwin, over to Mandorah from where you can look at Darwin from across the harbour, not much there apart for some homes along the beach and a pub that we all had lunch at...
The cars ranged from 4 BMW (my 135i, a great 840ci, an M3 and of course the blown M3), a GTO HSV, GTS HSV, Supercharged XR8, a classic Ford and Holden, 350Z and SSV Ute ... I think I covered them all.

At our next drive we are planning to invite friends of friends and expand the unofficial performace club.... hopefully find a few more beemers to come along.

Great pics. Love your 130kph speed limit up there. Too bad the NT unrestricted limit is a thing of the past....

Great collection of performance cars. Its been a while since I have seen an 840.... now they were an amazing car in their day

So the only 135i in Darwin is also one that is fully decked out with BMW Performance Parts? Nice.

I've spotted another 135, last time I was up in Darwin. It was just near east point park.

Will keep an eye out for both of you when I'm next up in the territory.

so I am not alone? Do you remember what colour? and was it vert or normal?

maybe there is still hope of a mini club then.....

oh and thanks for the replies guys.. yep I've got few of the performance parts on it but want more of them....

It was a black 135 coupe. Standard plates on it. Red interior from memory. This was just at the end of the dry season.

Thinking of driving up to Tennant for work in may, then up to Darwin again, so if I bring the 1er, we should have a meetup!
