Layer of protection on windshield?
Hi, do you guys know if there's any layer of protection on the exterior side of the windshield? Some white liquid dripped onto my windshield and hardened. I had to use a glass polisher (I used Zaino) to remove it off. It looks clean now when it's dry but whenever it rains (or I pour water on it), the windshield shows some spots, exactly the shape of the hardened liquid. Water bonds better to the glass in that area.
My question is, is there a layer of protection on the glass that the liquid removed? Or is that a layer of the liquid that can't be removed completely? |

My guess is it's the leftover waxey stuff they spray on the cars when they are being transported from Germany. Usually, they get most of this stuff off, but there's some residue left behind in the nooks and crannies. If you haven't already, maybe some good automotive glass cleaner will do the trick. Someone here may have a better solution to the problem. I use Stoner's Invisible Glass to clean my windows and it works great!
