It's amazing vendors can take money on orders that won't be fulfilled for over a month.. so shady

Excellent, that looks great!
Mine is almost finished too, like you, I went with the full rear quarter replacement. Welds in the c pillar and the door sills. Window and rear quarters were taken out. I also have a full cf roof panel

I've gone with a cf hood and trunklid to finish it off weightwise, along with a titanium exhaust. Will put some pics up once I get it back - can't wait!

Big big thanks to 1M conversion threads for helping out..

Cool. Post a link to your build thread when you get it all done and have pics.

I wanted to get Meisterschaft Titanium 1M axle-back exhaust but couldn't justify the 4 grand they wanted for it. I'd rather put that money into a MOTIV fuel overhaul kit, more dyno tuning and the Alpina software flash for my Level10 upgraded STEPTRONIC.

For track I'll be running APEX ARC-8 wheels
(F) 18x9.5 ET22 263/35/18
(R) 18x10.5 ET27 295/35/18
Unless I am not comfortable with the clearance to my oversized RevoZport CF rotor dust shields with brake duct cooling (I didn't realize until after I purchased & installed that they were designed and intended to be used with 19" wheels). If I am uncomfortable with clearance then I'll be putting these up for sale and I'll have to buy a second set of 19's.

For street I'll be running APEX PS-7 wheels
(F) 19x9.5 ET22 265/35/19
(R) 19x10.5 ET22 295/30/19
Apex recommended a 285/30/19 for the rear, but since I'm having the rear 1M quarters installed the shop will install accordingly and get me the extra clearance I'll need (5mm or essentially roll the rear fenders).

Still can't believe Apex didn't make the PS-7 with a 25 offset. 295 would be no problem, and could probably go wider with a roll/pull.

Got a chance to head out to the shop this weekend. Both 1M rear quarters are hung and welds look excellent. Inside wheels wells look good too.

I got a problem tho. The 19" PS-7 wheels that APEX told me would fit a 1M

19x10.5 ET22

Ain't no way in hell they are going to fit without serious fender work! The entire wheel needs to be inward by 1 inch.

Does the 1M have different rear suspension than a 135? Different wheel hub, lower rear control arm, etc. that would move this ET22 wheel inward by 1"? We spend a very long time meticulously measuring and for this PS-7 wheels to work on a 135 with 1M rear quarters, I would need a 19x10.5 ET47.

Ugh! So I either need to sell all my APEX wheels that I mentioned above of which 6 of the 8 wheels have not even been driven on yet and get 2 or 3 piece custom wheel *OR* I'd get 1M rear suspension parts if I was assured that they would move my PS-7's inwards 1 inch.

135i hub is wider in rear than the 1m. You need custom sizes or something less aggressive. The m3 rear subframe goes in more

Christ, sorry to see that. Yeah, it's the rear hub. The track width of the 135i is ~20mm wider than the 3er, which should include the M3 and 1M. Those wheels look great though!

You could look into doing the rear hub mod.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the insight. These things suck, but live and learn. Nobody likes spending good money after bad, but it happens and to be expected in serious car builds like this. You just try to do as much research as possible to minimize cost overruns like this.

I contacted HRE for custom wheels in the size/offsets I'd need. They were more than happy to accommodate; $2000 per wheel tho! 8 Grand for wheels is not in the budget so sending requests for quotes out to FISKE and CCW. May have to drop down to 18" (HRE 18" wheels were quoted at $1900 per wheel)

Why not avoid all that hassle and go with an m3 subframe? I'm fairly confident you could get the whole setup for less than 3GS which is 1.5 wheels if I'm reading the above correctly.

Well, first of all HRE is not the only custom wheel game in town. They are great wheels, I just can't afford them. I read the other linked thread and it sounded to me (if I understood correctly) that an M3 subframe & hub assembly would only move me inward 10mm. No? Is that correct? For these APEX PS-7 19" wheels to work I need to go inward 1".

The good thing is that these 18" and 19" APEX wheels I have according to APEX's website is the exact offset that they recommend for an E9xM3. So I'm hoping that I can put these up for sale and get back most of my money since 6 of the 8 wheels have never even been driven on yet (and 2 of the 8 are still brand new in the original double-box packaging as delivered). Plus the sale of my custom one-off 1M/135 hybrid side skirts will help recoup some cost as well when I can get them posted up for sale hopefully soon.

I highly recommend CCW, don't run them on my 1er but have a set for my track car. Their prices are about to jump so I'd get on them quick. Great built btw!

Looking good!! Bodywork on mine should be done too... Going to check her out tomorrow! You going to Formula D?? I'll be in the Hankook tent all day, come by if you're there!

Sucks to hear about your wheels... I have a feeing I might run into the same problem. I bought 18x10 ARC-8 ET25's square, but I haven't heard any bad news from the shop so my hopes are high.

Deep down the rabbit hole...

Was able to get out to the shop again today to test fit my new still in box APEX ARC-8 18x10.5 ET27 rear wheels that I purchased this past winter as well (18" ARC-8's were going to be for the track and 19" PS-7's were going to be for the street). Although, obviously inward 5mm than my 19" PS-7 wheel, still not enough, so I'll be selling them soon too. A guy named Shaun met us at the shop. He will be painting my 1. Real cool guy. I explained what I'm looking for. He was excited about the project.

Spoke to Wray at CCW. Got a quote for custom 3-piece wheels. Will be going that direction.

Here are some pics of the RevoZport CF roof test fitting. Shop owner Nate, who does all the work, said that he was extremely impressed with the Fitment and quality of this piece.

i was wondering how you were going to fit that as our rears are wider, i fit a 10 et 25 but 10.5 et 25 or less no way, i was hoping you had extra work to make it work. cant wait to see the finished car its going to look great

Dammit Sk8fe, now I might have to add the roof panel to my task list. That looks absolutely incredible.

Do you lose the mounting channels (roof racks) by doing that though?
