My New 1
This spring I began lurking here, checking out what all of you were saying and actually getting interested in the 1. In June I took some time off (I work in Afghanistan) and went to Germany for some R&R. I rented out a 120d which even with the more relaxed suspension and all season tires handled and ran out great. With a basic feel for the car I went to Pentagon car sales to try out a 135i. It was a night and day difference between the two! I mean the 120d has great torque and all but I forgot all about it as soon as I settled into the sport seats in the 135i, literally it was one of those moments that you point to when things got interesting From that very first drive I was hooked. In fact, I went over my 1 hour test drive with some full out autobahn runs followed by some great back road driving. From that day on I stopped just reading what you guys were saying about these cars and really became a 1 addict. So, long story severely shortened I put in my order on June 11th and just yesterday morning, 6 months to the day my 1 arrived at the dealer. Now I am moving back into a great new job in the states and I want you to know; of all the things that have kept my spirits high this forum has been one of the best. I driven no more than 6 miles from my shack in 19 months and I get to drive a kawasaki mule when I do; either way it feels like I have driven about 50,000 miles already I had the dealer grab some pics for me because I know the next post would demand them. I hope you all enjoy, I know that I have

Yes, the parking deck looks familiar. My office is less than 2 miles from Global Imports. Nice car and nice choice too.

Sweeeet Brady..I knew you would get it. So no more DPI for you? Or did you just get a slot in the states? Let me know..I plan on leaving in late Mar/Early April as well to get back to my beast! If you still with DPI we can have a DPI meet/photoshoot...LOL

THAT'S what the new i-Drive looks like. I feel like I got screwed with my 2008. I knew it operated better and the control had changed, but I thought it would still be the small screen and pop up
Oh yeah congrats wanna trade? |

Most of the pics I had seen were at a much lower angle, so that it looked like it protruded into the sight line for the driver. This is more from a natural sitting position and looks much better.

I went and go it, but there was no flashlight in the glove box. They did give me the 1 series keychain, I will have some pics and an initial review to post up shortly.

Beautiful. Reminds me of the first time I met my 'one'....then just a few minutes later....we're strolling together around town. Before long she was ready to go all the way....truly a great relationship. Understand each other on so many levels - but if yours is like mine, you've got to exercise some care.....push her too hard and she'll snap on you. Wicked power in that little package
