BMW Ultimate Drive - Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
I hope this isn't a repost, but if it isn't I think it should be a sticky.
This is an event to sponser the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. http://www.bmwusa.com/BmwExperience/...Programs/UDSK/ |

I did this last year and it was a blast. They had a couple of E90s, a couple of 5s, a 6 and a 7 series, as well as X3 and X5. I drove both Xs since the wait was too long for the other cars. They also had setup a track with cones in the parking lot of Gillete Stadium (where the Pats play) and had a 330i, A4, and G35. We got divided into teams of 3 and had a professional driver riding with us to test drive the 3 cars as fast as we could. It was sick :rocks: . Needless to say, I loved the 3 series and got it.
I don't know if it's the same around the country, but it's something that I HIGHLY recommend since you drive BMWs and help a great cause.

A silver Z4 passed me a few weeks ago with the huge pink bow graphics. I am assuming this is what that car was participating in?? Pretty cool!

So, are we required to make a tax-free contribution in order to participate in this event or does BMW make the contribution on our behalf? Is the point here to display BMWs around town with big pink ribbons on the side to show that they support the cause?

I bought a really nice "Drive for the Cure" BMW polo shirt, in blue, last year at the event, for cheap. They do have a donation box there too, but don;t push it. They really want you to just drive the cars.. the more miles, the more $$ to the fund.

They set up directions for a pre-determined route around here, give you a laminated copy of the directions, and send you on your way. They have the same car going out every 30 minutes around here, and the sign-ups for each car on BMWUSA.com were for every half hour.
You were only allowed to reserve two cars online, when initially signing up. However, they really encourage you to keep taking cars out, if any are sitting there. They truly are focused on having the most number of miles on each car. Plus, they are probably indirectly selling cars, or keeping people interested in the marque. |
