Tyre advice
I'm about to take delivery of a 2013 Series 1 135i M that has covered 4,200 miles. It's an ex-demo from a BMW dealer.
The tyres are Michelin Super Sport run flats with around 6mm of tread depth left. I'd appreciate some advice from forum users. Is this wear rate reasonable for the mileage? Does it indicate how the car has been driven? What is the original tread depth of these tyres? Ive been told 7.7mm. Is that correct? Feedback would be most appreciated. Many thanks. |

Michelin Pilot Super Sport is considered to be the top tire around here. Are you measure from the top of the wear bar or the low point in the tread?

If its a demo, you can be sure its driven hard every day. The Torque and power is a selling point! I think that can easy explain 1.7mm loss of tread depth. The 135i will use up the rear tires if you have a heavy foot. The front tires will normally last a bit better in most street situations.

They are also a summer tire on a reasonably powerful, heavier RWD car. My Lotus Exige went through a set of Yoko A048s in 6k miles and that car weighs a thousand pounds less than the 1er.
