Question stretched tires

Hey there,

I recently purchased my 135i that came with 19" vmr rims, on them are slightly stretched 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 kuhmo ecsta apt tires. Is this safe? Are there any benefits?

Here are some pictures:

Assuming that's a 19x8.5 ET45, yes that is perfectly safe. Tires have a rim width range that they approve of, and an 8.5" width is fine for a 19x8.5 wheel.

According to the tirerack:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=yes&tab=Specs

The 225 is OK on a rim from 7.5"-9.0"
The 255 is OK on a rim from 8.5"-9.5"

How wide are the rims?

You'll be fine, I've ran more than that and never had a problem.

Great thanks guys, I'll have to measure rim width but I'm sure it's in the range already discussed

Looks like you have the rims off the car, should be stamped on the backside.
