can i run 275/35/18 on 135i. I bought drag radials and would like to know if i will have any problems fitting them on my 135i.

Everything depends on your wheels. If you run a 9.5" wheel with a 57-62+ offset, they will fit.

Absolutely will not fit. Even if you could get the tire on the wheel, it would probably rub and be a huge waste because the tire isn't meant for the skinny of a wheel.

i have friends that fit those tires on their 3 series, i figure that 1 series will have the same space and should be able to fit.

i wouldnt mind for a slight rub i am using them strickly for drag strip i am aware that it would lose ability in cornering but was hoping to get an idea if it will fit at all before taking it to the shop

+2. Honestly you'd get better grip running a narrower tire (everything else about the tire being equal), but one that was matched up to the width of the OEM wheel. Think of it this way, sticking a 305/30 18 on there wouldn't make sense either

255 is the max size for the stock 18s on the 1series.

I dont know if they will physically fit or not but a 275 on a 8.5 inch wheel just for a drag radial isnt too bad. I have a 275 on a 17x8inch wheel for my GTO that I ONLY use on the track and it hooks well and doesnt feel weird going down the track. I dont drive on them though but I know a few guys do. Its not an ideal to have a 275 on a 8inch wheel but it wont kill you or explode. A wider wheel will give you a better contact patch with a wide tire. So you wont have as much traction with a 8inch wheel as you would with a 10 inch wheel with the same size tire. I did it on the GTO because stock wheels are cheap and I was only using it for drag racing. The handling will be deminished with a wide tire on a narrow wheel.

I am currently running 245/35R-18 Kumho Ecsta XS and 265/35R-18 Kumho Ecsta XS on Apex Arc 8s..... No issues.......... I do find them a bit noisy...

I'm assuming you are stock ride height? 245 up front, even on ET+45 is tight on space. I'd like to run 235 but the height is off putting and at my ride height i'd need a lot more fender work.

I'm running 265/40 in the rear with no issues on a 8.5inch wheel. Alittle small but I'm not having any issues.

"Issues" when it comes to an undersized wheel for a tire are not as noticeable as you'd think. You may be running a 265 rear tire, but when its on a undersized wheel, it may very well perform worse than a 245 tire of equal height on that same wheel.

I have the same sizes and wheels with Bridgestone S04's. Excellent fitment at stock ride height. Not sure yet how far I can lower it when I install coil overs, dinan camber plates, and M3 arms soon.

The rear will be OK but will rub, the front is going to be very delicate. You'll need a spacer to clear the strut, but with the tire size you will be rubbing badly against the fender. So you'll need a good amount of camber and a roll to fix that. I'm running 225 up front with M3 arms and a roll, and it still rubs. Needed a 5mm spacer to clear the strut.

Saturday i installed the 275/35/18 on stock 8.5 wheel and it works just fine. i do hear mild rubbing when going over a big bump but over all it looks good

Exactly.

Just because it will go on, does not mean it works well.

Going too wide will cause the tire to balloon out, and the outer portion of the tire may not even have proper contact with the ground.

Not to jack this 135 thread, but what about if it's on a 128...

Stock rear 207Ms are 17 x 7.5, I currently run 225/45 but will it be feasible to put in a TALLER (meatier?) and slightly wider tire like 235/45 or even 245/40?

Sorry if it's out of the topic... But I do agree with the post above, I currently run 225/45 on all 4 corners of my 128 after everybody's advice here. The fronts actually look alright with 225/45s. OEM was 205/40. Running Yoko S-Drives. It does look a bit bulging, but otherwise, I'm gonna say, functional.

All you need to do is go to the manufacture of the tire web site and they will show the specs on the tire which will include the min and max rim width. For a bridgestone potenza 215/40-18 for example has rim width min is 7.5 and max is 8.5.
