congrats! hope your car comes in soon! and i too also ordered the car without seeing it in person! i was #2 at the dealership to put deposit down for the 135.

i test drove the 128 and it's plenty of power and drive for a girl. but i got the 135 cuz i like more power to blow off guys that try to race me. i get plenty of looks just driving my 323Ci back then and the Boxster S now. the handling and ride is also sufficient for daily drive.

too bad i already have a convertible at home or else i would consider getting the 135 vert also. gotta love open top! i love being in the sun and having the air blow through your hair!

Is there an award for "moderator of the year?"

As noted, very common, always tiresome. Useful only to distinguish those who buy cars to be seen in from those who buy cars to drive them.

Actually, the funny thing is that I am right now. I had a Saturn hybrid that was a piece of junk, so I traded it for an 08 V6 Honda Accord for the wife <really nice car for the money btw>, and somehow I got stuck with the minivan until my 135i Vert gets in.

So all you guys complaining about not being able to wait for your cars? Try driving a minivan...I REALLY REALLY Can' wait!!!!!!

I just ordered the taupe letherette in my 135 convertible too, and am catching grief from my brothers for not stepping up with the leather. But I've heard good things about the quality and finish of the BMW letherette, and I just think it'll be less to worry about in a car without a roof! That said, in person I've only seen and felt the letherette in black, and was impresssed. Did you see the taupe letherette in person before ordering it? Happy with it? thanks!

Well just remember that the Letherette does *not* include BMW's sun reflective technology. It is arguably more important to get leather on a Vert then the coupe because the reflective nature of this leather drops the temp by almost 20 degrees. If you live where the sun is really hot <like me in Texas>, that is huge. If you were thinking about the premium package anyway, then it's a no brainer. Just a thought.

Also, if you car has not entered code 150 into production, you can still change anything you want.

Unfortunately, even Road & Track mag (who should know better) states that the 128i Convert. is "not a manly" car.
I recall that the Z3 was also deemed a "chick" car. My experience was that more than one fetching young thing indicated her wish for a ride in my '97 2.8 - much to the chagrin of my wife!
As you guys are saying, I'll enjoy the view out from my 128i cabrio without much caring what those looking in have to say.

Anyone offering "sun reflective technology" in a can yet? If not, there's got to be a healthy market for it. In one of those "Wait there's more!" commercials.

I just saw the taupe boston leather in a 128i, and it looks more gray than tan to me. I assume the letherette color taupe will be the same. ugh....now I'm wishing I went with something more tan !

You say it may not be too late for me to change my order? How do I know if my car has entered "code 150" stage of production? (i just gave the dealer the 1k down on Thursday).
