1er - Limited?
ok i have a really weired question. you can call me stupid or a moron but, i am asking this question because i went to a dealership over here in AZ and i did test drive a 135i. so i asked him "mm i love the car, can i place an order" well he said "no not at the moment the order list is filled". so ok, i understand. but then i asked him, "can you tell me when you guys are gonna have them in stock (dealership)" he told me "well after the overseas orders has been all sent out to the owners, we will be getting no more 135i" ..... so.... umm,.,.,.,. WTF? is the 1 available for a limited time only? or..... :iono:

(resisting urge to call you a stupid moron, even though you asked) JK, welcome to 1Addicts. Well. That is an interesting situation - we have heard of a limited supply of the 1 series this year (~10,000 across all of the series). It might be possible that your dealer has indeed sold all of it's allotment, or traded it to some other dealers for cars that are more popular in your area.
However this is the first I have heard of a dealer having no more allotted cars, and there are many members here placing new orders and some getting (small) discounts. If you are truly interested in a purchase, I would go to another dealer and buy through them.

Is this a tiny dealership that only gets a handful of cars a month? There were some dealerships that got no or one allocation for the launch, other than the launch cars... It's possible that either the dealer was talking about 2008 model years, not knowing what they are talking about, or they are simply sold out of their allocations for the time being, and don't want to book out 4 months.

the dealership gets a specific allocation of build slots for every car, don't worry, they will get plenty more spots. Try one of the other dealers, we have 4 of them in the state and any of them can order you the car. Push for a nice discount too, I will be.

My saleslady told me today that they are basically sold out of all 1's until late summer early fall and they are a large bmw dealership. She said they sold all there slots in the last few weeks.

my car was supposed to be "ordered" two Fridays ago but my SA called today and said they are having trouble trading up a vert for a coupe. I hope I don't have to wait too long

The salesman is playing psychological games with you. He sees how interested you are and is playing on emotion telling you what he did so when they do have an allocation slot available, it will help justify you to pay more to get the car.
Try another dealer?

There are none in my area either! I took the last allocation the dealer had. That's why I went ahead and ordered the car unseen. I knew from reading this forum how popular they were and how some people were having issues getting them, so I figured I'd jump on that allocation while it was still available. Luckily I made the decision quickly because when I got there to give them my deposit check they said they had two other people call that morning looking for 135is.

I paid full MSRP, as did many others. Any time a car is in high demand like this people rarely get a deal. Heck some high demand cars get stuck with an extra dealer markup. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay one of those.
