I picked up my 1M yesterday. I bought it from a guy who was buying an SUV due to the impending arrival of twins. To be honest I came across the car by accident. I have not stopped grinning ever since. I cant actually believe how good this car is. Very very happy here (even though I did pay over the odds for it - but hey, that's Singapore for you)

Parking far away you say? Last night I drove 1M to dinner, when I'd finished parking after arriving, my wife enquired "why didn't we just leave the car at home and walk? It would have been closer!!"

I just smiled as I walked backwards in the direction of our chosen venue.

I am with this car for the long haul . . . I knew that going in. It was the only way I could justify paying more than sticker for the car, fortunately only 5k over. I had never paid full sticker for a car, let alone over sticker. I felt butt-hurt for a day, then got over it.

After just over two years, I can safely say I am far more in love with the 1M than I was when I got it.

It's not the kind of car you learn from (I don't feel as if it's taught me anything new like I used to after every drive with my 993-TTS), but it's so big-hearted, so friendly, so predictable, that I just have a blast every time I take it out. Slippery roads? Sideways. Roundabouts? Sideways. But the engine, though it lacks the crazy top-end of my old S54, is just so tractable. Yes, I can hoon it, but lazy? Shove it in sixth and drive it like an auto.

But that's not a normal day. Get in: M button, TC off. This car is so easy to drive at the limit, it's all so accessible, that I cannot think of any car this side of a 458 that I'd prefer...

Best car BMW's ever made? One of, for sure...

I feel like it's a warm fuzzy pit bull that will turn around and bite your hand or in the ass if you get sloppy or let your guard down...

Glad to hear you love this vehicle, but I'd argue that the 1M is anything but predictable given the torque and wheelbase. After all, look how many owners have binned their 1M or E82 and this is not just referring to racers, who really are pushing limits.

Try spinning out 450o then counter spinning 270o at over 100mph. Everytime I am on circuit, my overwhelming emotion is fear
