Damage
Somehow I got a ding in the aluminum trim just in front of the console. Also noticed a long cut on my rear bumper from the top all the way to the bottom. It looks like someone took a razor blade or something to it.

Ouch! It always pains me to see even the slightest of damages on these e90s!!! What is it about damages on all these 3's? It's like they attract careless people to park next to them! Pisses me off!!! And I didn't even get my 3 yet!

What you describe is classic NYC. Making spots where none exist. I watched in horror once where like out of a cartoon, someone was intentionally hitting my bumper (different car) to give themselves enough space to squeeze into an imaginary spot. This was around central part west. When I confronted them, I got responses in a language I didn't understand.

It seems that as our e90's become more common and more people own them, we will continue to see more damaged ones caused by carelessness. Sorry for the damages guys.

It´s not bad - not even noticeable unless one looks for it.

I was paged at the Whole Foods supermarket by my (München) license plate number. When I got to the front desk, the clerk told me that someone who parked next to me wondered if I could move my car so they could leave. I was parked in a spot with no spots to my right or left (favorite spot until now of course) and when I went outside, it was clear that they couldn´t leave since that had attached themselves to my car. But at least this way they couldn´t leave and it had to be on their insurance.

Sorry to hear about your damage to the aluminum trim. I also have a scratch and yes, it rather sucks!
So... Does anyone know if minor scratches/dings on this trim can be buffed out? Or rubbed out somehow? Other than replacement - anyone fix their trim? Or - do we just [quietly] whine to ourselves as we look at the damage to our babies... Marilyn
