ARB Plugging Kit
Shortly after getting my 2009 e88, I decided to carry a compressor (Viair 60P) and a plugging kit. I looked at inexpensive ones but decided it was worth spending ~$40 just in case I ever needed to use it. My theory is most issues will be addressed by the compressor but if it leaks air too fast, I will try inserting a plug. I've never had a flat to need either but I use the compressor fairly often to maintain air pressure.
Well my other vehicle developed a slow leak and was getting annoying. I didn't want to go to the tire store and have it plugged because the tire is pretty well worn out. I was airing it up Sunday and noticed the source of the leak - a short nail, like from a piece of tack strip - was sticking out. I decided to try the plugging kit. It worked fine. Tire is holding air. The kit has sturdy reaming and inserting tools that are all metal, plug lubricant, and a little kit of valves and caps plus the plugs. Took all of 5 minutes to use. I still will get my favorite tire store to insert plugs from the inside for tires I want to use for long whenever possible but I now know my plugging kit works. http://www.amazon.com/ARB-10000010-O.../dp/B004P91FCO
