Yeah I think you are right about the spring not sitting correctly. Its like an inch or two away from the notch in the upper spring perch.

That will defintiely do what you are describing then.

(We all know that 361.9 really means retinal detachment in ICD-9 land though )

Well Thank you for fixing all the squeaks and bangs and what not today larry. However, I drove around springfield which is like a road hazard battlefield for 10 minutes and I still hate it. I am either putting the stock springs back in or buying new shocks. Just gotta figure out which now. This freaking blows. I might as well go buy all the tools to do this myself too cause I might end up doing it a few more times

LOL Ive thought about that. Starting to wonder where my tax dollars are going. I havent seen any of those road signs "provided by the recovery act" in springfield like I saw on rte 104 on the way to your place.

ok, fitment news.........Fender clearance is fine front and rear!!! However because I am lowered now I am hitting the Tab that holds the fenders together. I saw a pretty clear mark on the tire So I am sure that it is that. I will borrow some tools from work tommorrow and cut those tabs away and try again soon. Camber plate was a real bitch to move.....Any suggestions on how to easily adjust? I dont think I had the nuts loose enough maybe????

Yeah, the tab has to be clearaned to run 255's.

The plates move very easily with that corner off the ground, and the nuts loosened enough. It's not ever going to be butter smooth to move them since the entire weight of the suspension/brakes/wheel/tire is on the plate, but you can slowly tap it left or right. Just don't ever do it with the car down on the ground. For most people this will be a set-it-and-forget-it type of install.

Good to hear it's more or less on without too much incident now.

Finally got my plates in tonight, hoping for a trouble-free install Friday. Excitement is slowly rising

Gotta hand it to Eddy for the great service.

Do yourself a favor and dont take any shortcuts. Take the strut out of the spindle and disconnect the level sensors and all wiring. Trust me.

WTF... What now?

One thing to say... Anybody putting stiffer sways, springs/struts/shocks, M3 bushings, and camber plates onto their cars is going to introduce more road noise. On smooth roads, not that noticeable, but on crappy pockmarked and washboard patchworks of cold patch, you're gonna hear some staccato.

lol yeah indeed. this is definetly a new sound. its a rattle like something is loose, but all the nuts are tight. I loosened up the three camber plate nuts on the passenger side and slid them over and back yesterday(harder than I expected btw) seeing if the tires fit at max camber and now I got noise on the passenger side. Im going to look around this afternoon. Only thing I can see is the nuts are in a different location as they were before, more outward, but that shouldnt affect anything.

So that new banging that you mentioned this AM is all but gone? Have you successfully tried the 255s up front now?

By the way, to adjust camber, I've found that it's really easy to do by jacking up the corner, loosening the 3 nuts on top, and reaching your hand over the tire and just pushing/pulling the strut. It moves pretty easily for me that way.

yeah the spherical joint was bouncing around so that sound is all gone. gonna give it a good tightening later today if I can figure out what it takes to remove the cross bar or whatever its called. The 255's did fit as far as fender clearance. Just took a sander to the fender tab as well. So, going to test fit that later today and report back.
