Valentine Stealth install

I recent came across a thread created by alekshop with a valentine stealth install and was inspired to do the same.

I had the rear view mirror sent out to radar-mirror for the 2 way glass and V1 remote installed...everything else I did myself which was fairly easy. I used the old 740 alarm/motion cover unit, which i found on ebay and fabricated a base out of particle board to house the V1 unit in.

V1 works great and I believe the laser detector works too due to certain led taillights...Cadillac in particular to trigger the alarm.

Sorry for the crappy pics...enjoy!

That's a sweet looking install After using it for a while, do you notice reduced sensitivity or anything? It seems like the mounting it that low could affect its forward or rearward visibility. I wonder if this would work in a 128 coupe...

Thank you! It works great and has saved me many times already. I Honestly believe sensitivity is as good or better.
I don't think you would have any issues in the coupe.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the radar-mirror guys charge to install your own V1 in your own mirror?

I sent out an extra mirror I bought and he installed the v1 remote unit...I think its about $50 for that part. I think he charged me $495...can't recall. Everything else I did myself....real easy to do.

Thanks NKatsim for sending the wooden base! I finished the install a while back, but I wanted to share my install to show some additional possibilities for others. I installed my display front and center, added a volume control by the radio knob, and cut a slot for plexiglass to improve laser detection.
