ODB-II Power

When a device, in this case a Dash Command module, is connected to the ODB-II port does it draw power when the car is turned off? There are no lights to indicate that it is drawing power.

I don't think so, I think they're only powered when the ignition is on or recently turned off...

I have a Scan Gauge II plugged in full time. It shuts down a few seconds after ignition and does not come to life until a few seconds after the ignition is turned on again. This has been in place for three years and I have noticed no battery issues I would attribute to the Scan Gauge

Tks to everyone who responded. This puts my mind at ease. I also assume, and we know what the means, that the two pronged plug for an apple device also shuts down when the ignition is off. Tks again.
