I don't think the new Z4 is too overpriced. You get a lot more car for your money and it does have the new hard top and the n54. I think BMW are making room for the new Z2 which will slot in under the Z4.

Especially the Z4 3.5 which starts around $52k. And the Z4 3.0 at $46k is very competitive with the basic Boxster, having the same HP and quoted 0~60 time.

Z4 is definitely overpriced vs the boxster, and as stated above, having watched the new season of top gear online- this car has a LOT of understeer, that said and without revealing too much "it's a brilliant car, this"

Pretty much. The Z4 is more expensive, because it moved up a slot in the lineup. The Z2 will fill in the void.

Exactly. The new Z4 has a new twin turbo engine, hard top convertible technology, new interior, new exterior, longer, wider, it's a completely new car from the ground up. The new Z4 dwarfs the SLK, Boxster, TT and Zed range in size comparison. You are definitely getting a lot more car now. I think the new Z2 will slide in under the old Z4 pricing.

Currently leasing an 08 auto 135i and an 07 Z4M that I'm returning on lease in October. In 2 weeks I take delivery of my 6-speed Z4 3.5 sDrive. Will post a full review after delivery. (also, used to have a 2003 z4 3.0 in smg- will include this also)

Thanks Taka, I am serious but looking at changing in around 6 months at the moment having seen that a release of an MSport and/or a 40i is possible in the near future.

Can't say how well it drives since I haven't driven one. I can speak the interior is a step above 135i's. More premium, soft touch material with textured surface, and the fit and finish are more intricate and artistically pleasing to the eye. In one sentence it is more up market than the 1.

It's also in Cayman S territory which I much rather have. I saw the new Z4 the other day at my dealership. Again, beautiful car, but a bit pricey. But, then again, the Z's have always been at a premium.

Cayman S is beautiful I can understand why someone would go down that route but the Z4 is a genuine convertible with state of the art hard top technology. My prediction is that BMW will offer the new Z4 in coupe a few years from now. It'll weigh less and cost less too. I've driven the Z4 and it's definitely a more refined and classy roadster.

Has anyone heard anything about the Z4 3.5's and HPFP issues? I searched their forum and couldn't find anything. Maybe BMW has improved or figured something out with those cars.

Yeah I been searching too but I have yet to find someone that has had a HPFP issue with a z4 35i.

You've driven 135i, Z4M and Z4 sdrive (adaptive suspension?) How do they compare to each other in terms of handling. I'm thinking of replacing 135 with Z4 (adaptive suspension) but I've read so many reviews which claim z4 isnt a good handling roadster). What is your opinion?
