Moved to a new apartment how do you clean your car?

So there is no hose on apartments I guess law states you can't have one I attempted to go one of those wash your own car place.

You swipe your card chose pressure settings and stuff but your not allowed to use your bucket so I dunno how I would go doing 2/ 3 bucket system.

I moved my car to park and clean it after wash and rinse. still some stains and stuff that were stuck on. couple spots where didnt want to come off. I got mad so I applied some pressure to get it out no go. kept doing it I think I scratched it tiny bit trying.

In the end I just used my cobra microfiber to clean off the water with detailing sprey cleaned windows with invis glass and left didnt want to clean the rims after 1 swipe there was alot dirt. I did not want to mess up my rims so I figure I try to find a friend with a hose and properly clean my car.


What other alternatives do I have? I got slight swirls and light scratches which pisses me off since I just got this car like 3-4 months ago

I have a portor cable but I feel I have no place to use it nor the time.

Now I feel I may have to get it professionally detailed at some point to fix all the swirls/scratches grrrrrrr.

Not sure if this would work for your situation (or if you've tried it), but have you looked into Optimum No Rinse?

I got it detailed. And keep it clean in between good washes with a no rinse wash. I have the same issue. And mine is bsm. For car guys apt are just not that practical

If you can get it detailed properly, you may want to look into a paint coating as well, something along the lines of Opti-Coat, GTechniq, etc.

I used to live in an apartment that had a garage but no hose access. I used ONR and the two bucket method. Make sure you have a good synthetic sealant like Blackfire Wet Diamond AFPP. This will protect your paint from the elements and make it easier to clean when you do wash it.

Is there a friend or family members drive way you can borrow to wash it? Otherwise I would look for a coin operated do-it-yourself car washing station. I actually had no issue with the ONR method, it is a great product.

P.S. Swirls are inevitable, don't worry about it.

I also live in an apartment complex with no hose access. So i wash my car with chemical guys hose free eco wash with two buckets and I use a hand pump weed pressurized sprayer to lightly mist each panel. Then i use meguiars last touch during the drying process to reduce marring and to lightly lift any dirt spots missed during the washing process followed up by meguiars quick wax aka D156 for my weekly washing options

How about finding a place where you can use a bucket? Or go wash your car at a friend's place? That's what I used to do when I was a freshman at college.

You don't need a bucket. Just use a waterless wash product of some sort.

I have a garage, and a hose outlet at my apartment (one of the reasons I moved there). So, I do hand wash, except for the Dec.-Feb. period when I store the 1er.

I have heard so many good things about ONR that I am going to try it when spring comes.

You want a Perfect solution? Go to a GOOD local detailer and have him give your car a 2-3 step polish and then apply opti-coat on the car. If you have only had your care for 3-4 months you are still eligible for the lifetime warranty on opti-coat.

ONR is just the ticket. You can fill it from your kitchen sink/bathtub (the latter is easier), you just wash and dry as you go. I easily wash the car with just 4 gallons - the standard mix is 1 oz ONR for 2 gallons water.
