BMW Road Hazard protection
I strongly recommend you get this protection... i just cracked a rim really badly in a pudhole and they just replaced it with a free rental car... ! The protection is about 1200 CAD for 3 years. A M sport wheel costs 760 CAD ! If you add installation, taxes, car rental... it comes to nearly 1000 CAD ! So that = a good investment !
Especially if you live in Québec where the streets have no feelings for your Bimmer !

Appreciate the advice but I'll just do my best to avoid potholes and busting my rims. Not saying it was your fault, I've heard the roads in Quebec and Montreal in particular aren't great. But nobody is getting that much of my money upfront for some insurance/protection that I may or may not use.

Hehe, no matter where they live, people always say the roads there are horrendous. I am surprised when I hear people complaining about the roads in the southern US being terrible also...I always thought the roads in Canada were a whole different level of bad due to the freeze thaw cycles.
Where can I find the driving utopia where the public roads aren't crap? |

I totally agree. I didn't even have to think about opting for the wheel protection. In early spring here, the roads seem to resemble something out of a post WWII bombed out city. When your driving in traffic, sometimes it is simply impossible to miss or drive around a pothole as you can't see them till it is too late. I grew up in southern BC (Kelowna Area) and the roads around there seem to be in the best shape for western canada. You still can find some pretty bad stretches though.

Damn right it's a good investment ! The price of that M wheel is almost equal to the road hazard's price !
