That +23 hp and +35 ft/lb, a very decent increase over the BMW Performance Tuning. We plan to spend a few hours to finalize the stage 1 flash with a possible race fuel map in a couple of weeks.

As many of you may already know, the stock N54 air box is restrictive, and more so at elevated boost levels. Back in 2007 when we first dyno our N54 335i on a Superflow dyno, by simply taking the lid off of the stock air box net about 7 hp on a stock engine with stock tune. On an engine with elevated boost levels, more hp can be had.
So your midpipes went back to OEM for this testing?

15% driveline loss puts that at 380HP 445TQ with just a tune (for those keeping count). 10% loss puts the baseline numbers closer to BMW reported numbers, but Id guess BMW understated.

Looks good to me

Good job Harold

Mid-pipe wasn't tested as GIAC and us wanted to know what the car can do completely stock.

We already know for stage 1 the intake restriction and high IAT's(FMIC will help here) is keeping us from making more power.

An update:

Performance Stage 1, Stock and Valet modes were all loaded and handheld switcher is currently on HP's 1M. Next will add the Stage 1 race fuel mode when the car has the chance to be back at GIAC again.

Top speed limiter has also been removed.

That is great news! You and GIAC are really pushing hard to release this tune!

Could you share more about how the Valet modes work? Did you guys figure out a way to turn on Valet mode without using the handheld flasher, or is that the only way as of now?

I'm looking forward to hearing your final results with the Stage 1 tune!

Valet mode is just a simple push of a button away on the handheld switcher. The switch happens in a fraction of a second.

Valet mode had a very limited throttle opening with a rev limit of 4000 rpm.

All mode switching is done with teh handheld switcher and will continue to be that way.

Going back to GIAC as soon as their dyno is free to finalize it.

We are up to 332 hp and 385 tq currently. Still more tweaking are being done. And today is at least 10 degrees warmer than the last time we were here at GIAC.

Edit: We are up to 393 tq now.

Does this affect or eliminate the overboost function? Im assuming the 380tq number is not the standard number.

HP Autowerks,
Would it be possible to do a dyno chart from 1,500-7,000?

None of it is standard. It's GIAC.

It makes sense just to have more boost everywhere and not just short duration of the overboost function, but GIAC will ultimately decide what works the best.

Sorry I worded that wrong, shouldnt have used "standard"

I agree you want more boost everywhere, just thought maybe the overboost kicks in even higher since the baseline has moved up.

What about retaining the "quicker throttle response" by hitting the "M" button?

BMW 1M GIAC Dyno Results - Stock, Stage 1 and Stage 1 Race Fuel

Mustang Dyno plots:

Blue: Stock Car
Green: Stage 1 on 91 octane
Red: Stage 1 Race Fuel on 100 octane

Handheld switcher is available and for map switching.

Remember, these are Mustang Dyno numbers, which are very conservative. Again, we are looking at the delta here.

Official release date of this tune to your local GIAC dealer is yet to be determined.

WOW! That is a very impressive power gain! That is a good amount more than some of the other tunes out there for this car.

I love how the top end doesn't fall like it does in stock form. Very impressive work to you and GIAC! Any plans for a Stage 2 or results with 92 octane?
