Not much chance of that, so far, there have only been 2 "is" made in Cashmere, and one is still for sale in CA. The other one was a MT6

Not much worry about 2013 135 Cashmere owners in general, it's definitely a rare color - only 11 out of 1500+

There is one color even more exclusive than Cashmere on the 2013: Bluewater - 5 total 135, 2 "is"

I love bluewater metallic. I saw it on a 135i on the highway and was blown away by it. It desperately needs the black trim, though, and I would have done it with a black interior and a light tint as well.

Bama, in case you missed it, loooooong time ago at the beginning of this thread, one of the white whale bluewater metallic 135is owners posted one picture of his car on here, and was never heard from or seen again. Let me try to go find that. So, the only one we haven't seen pictures of now would be a titanium silver coupe. I've seen a few pics of 2 titanium silver convertibles, but it's not quite the same.

Here's the bluewater metallic, on page 12 of the thread, post #257, and it resides in Seattle. I think this picture upsets mb135is a hair though, so I fear posting it. =P I also agree with him though and would have gone with the black interior on it as well, though not with blue stitching probably as that'd be weird. I almost got bluewater LAST time on my 135, too, but was identical to the color I had on my existing car at the time and had to see it person first before ordering which wasn't possible.

I'm usually not a light blue car fan, but that "is" does look good - looks like he has the one with beige seats, the other one was black seats.

I'm with you guys, I would have preferred the Black interior as well.

Also, the bluewater will end up for sure being the rarest color because it got discontinued at the end of February, so come March 1, you couldn't order bluewater exterior or terracotta interior. Still 1 or 2 terracotta interior IS's floating around out there at dealers.

This was _immediately_ out of the bowl. Very weird spot. Now the crest onto the front straight is always tricky with the novices since as it crests it moves right. Unfortunately I was instructing in the trailing Z4M coupe that was taking a point-by by someone who failed this.

I've had this thing for almost 3 weeks and just haven't gotten around to doing a proper photo shoot. I'll be borrowing my mom's old Canon DSLR or the brand new fancy pants Nikon. I will also give my complete thoughts on the car so far.

Here's a Galaxy S3 photo with my trusty and fun 2005 Jetta GLI in the background. Pretty close in color!! I love it!

135is registration

I took delivery of my 135is 6MT a week ago. I'll post pictures soon.

I have two questions:

1-I'm debating whether to change the transmission and differential oils after the break-in period. Any thoughts/ suggestions.

2-I understand that the insurance documents show that the vehicle is 135i since the VIN number states that. However, the BMW finance and tag papers should indicate that it is 135is, otherwise there is no proof that the car was produced to be an “is”. My tag papers, BMW order papers all show that it is an “is”; however, Bill of Sale and BMW finance papers show 135i. When asked the dealer, they said that the system populated the form this way and it cannot be changed. I am concerned that what would be the proof that the car is indeed an “is” 5 or 10 years from now! Any thoughts?

I appreciate your inputs!

I wouldn't worry about the whole VIN and computers showing 135i vs 135is when it comes to registration and insurance. For all intents and purposes, it's just a 135i that raided the BMW Performance aftermarket bin of goodies.

So, there were many earlier debates/questions about this and all of this is common. It's a good thing in terms of insurance since it would probably cost more if they knew about the PPK and added power.

When you plug the VIN # into one of those vin decoders though, while it doesn't show as "IS" there is some code in there like PM7MA, something like that that says "sport edition" and shows it came with the 313 style wheels. Plus, it should show in BMW's computer when it comes to servicing about the PPK2 as well. You also have the window sticker and all the badging as well. Granted, there are a few forum members who try to slap some IS badges on and pretend theirs is an IS, but it's pretty easy to discern the fakes.

While I understand the fear and paranoia, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thanks for your input. You and me and other folks in this forum understand how to read the VIN and determine if it is an "is", but my concern is that down the road some would question that. I know that this sounds too concerned, but we've paid a significant amount for the 135i to be 135is, haven't we!

You are right, I have plenty of BMW produced documentation showing that it is an "is" and I should relax and enjoy the noise that reminds me that it is indeed an "is"

Ya, it's a really weird anomaly that on many things it just shows up as a plain jane 135i. When I called BMW to activate my BMW Assist thing in the car the other day they said first off congratulations on your new 2013 135i. Took every fiber of my being to not say, excuse me, it's a 135i...S!

Just hang onto all the pieces of paper that DO say 135is and any knowledgeable purchaser down the road will know what it is and the vin decoder makes it easy if they went further proof. It is weird though that it shows as a 135i on registration and what have you. I wonder if other similar type cars like a Cadillac CTS-V shows as a CTS or CTS-V on their registrations. Or any of those weird new Mustangs or Camaros that have a million variations.

Just in case though, I went ahead and made it clear to everyone. O=) And I don't plan on selling the car ever. Taking it with me to my grave.

My Allstate car insurance card has my car as a 135is. They must be seeing the P7MFA code which as Greg pointed out is the key.

Decided to go look at all my paperwork. Sure enough, I have nothing that states it as an "is" except for the original window sticker and the interior/exterior badges.

None of my dealership paperwork, nor my registration, nor my insurance differentiates b/w the two. All of this paperwork states it as a "135i".

I do have the P7MFA code from the VIN decoder website that states it as "Sports Edition" in my file.

When I called to activate my BMW assist, they did recognize it as a new 135is, which was nice (unlike gregthegr8's recent experience).

Damn that Denise!!! Well, she's Canadian. Think I can get away with that joke in this thread since there is no IS in canada, though that msport version is pretty close.

I'll have to look at my registration. My insurance says 135i. What's funny is when I got my 2008 135 in April 2008 (few weeks after it came out), the insurance company at the time didn't even have it in their system and so it was some ambiguous unknown car for a bit til it popped up a month or two later.

Edit - just checked my registration and doesn't even say 135i under model. Says UV. Must have confused the DMV here and wonder if that stands for unknown vehicle. So, for all they know, it's just a 2013 BMW Coupe apparently. Odd.

Yaaaa! Nice to finally see her Rik and I'm totally not biased. You already get it all the way home?

I think you'll find that you like it more and more with each passing day. Once you get the tint, too, it really seems to change the look and character of the car from a passenger car to a mean sports car.

Hope we were able to help get you through the long process and glad we got to go on the ride with you.

Yes, the car home and tucked away inside the garage. Avoiding the interstate and taking the scenic backroads was fantastic, and I enjoyed the challenge of constantly varying my speed and engine RPMs without visiting the exercise upon the other motorists around us.

These forums certainly did act as a lightning rod to dissipate the excitement and anxiety of waiting 10 weeks from order to delivery... and special thanks to you and the other MG'ers!!!
