Looks like the ship has arrived!

And I'm kind of pissed, because my CA responded to my inquiry yesterday and said he would be on vacation until the end of my month and that his partner will be dealing with me from now on. I'm very nervous that all of the details I had discussed with my CA will not be honored by this new guy...

Hopefully you got some of the details in writing. If not, you might try dropping him an email and saying something like, "I just want to confirm the deal we discussed, that includes, X, Y, and Z, so it's a smooth transition to the other CA" or something like that.

But it sucks to have to start the discussion with someone new in any case; good luck!

Heh, I was just about to post the same thing.

Are you having anything installed "at port"?

I'm having the BMW Performance Suspension & Exhaust, so I suspect that will add some time to my car being shipped up here to my dealership in Concord...

I've been encouraged by reading various posts that suggests cars that have already been sold (vs. ones coming in to sit on dealers' lots) get priority, and that they can theoretically get through the center (with no installations, I assume) in as little as 2 days.

In any case, at least there's no more waiting on the ship!

Update

My CA just told me my car is in the accessories shop, getting suspension and exhaust installed. Expected to be on the truck on the 19th, with arrival at dealership on 22nd or 23rd.

I hope to have it before Thanksgiving weekend!

Do I have to ask to keep all your stock parts that are going to be replaced by the Performance parts?

OR they will automatically put your stock parts in the truck wrapped?

I dont know if you NEED to ask but I requested they include the stock grill with the delivery after they installed the black grill requested.

I doubt they will give you anything unless you specifically ask for it, hope I am wrong but are you willing to take the chance?

Nice, at least you have a timeline to go by now... I'm not having anything installed at the port, so I would think my car should be leaving soon. I'm just waiting for the call... I ordered on 09/04 and this has been a long 2 months.

Think of it this way, you purchased a car and had accessories installed. You own both, so original parts should arrive along with your car at the dealer.

Since I don't work for BMW USA, I can't give you a definitive answer, but someone from BMW USA should. Pick up the phone and call New Jersey.

I don't want my stock parts, except maybe the black exhaust tips (but I'm not even sure about that), so I can't say.

IIRC, one person mentioned somewhere that he was not permitted to have his stock exhaust when he got his PE installed at port.

I'm leasing & don't want to deal with storing the stuff for 3 years and possibly having BMW not want to take it back at the end. I certainly don't want the suspension or the grilles, and if I'm not happy with the exhaust (which I doubt will be the case), I think I recall seeing that stock ones aren't that expensive around here.

I recommend following others' advice and contacting your dealer.

Excellent! My CA is on vacation until the week after next. (In fairness, my car is scheduled to be shipped from the prep center on the 19th, and he said he'd keep an eye on it in the mean time, but still...)

Thanks for the info; it's good to know how brief the wait can be in theory.

Have fun!!
